Any third trimesters get a big baby shift?

I'm only just in my third trimester (29 weeks tomorrow) and about a week ago, I woke up in the middle of the night to some alien take over in my belly! Chat Icon It could have been more amplified because I was half asleep and dreaming but the baby totally pivoted in my belly and hoo-hah!

From my level II's and my last visit heartbeat location I know that the baby's head was down, face up (or to the side), with the body on my right side. And I was getting a lot of arm and leg movements poking and making waves across my belly.

Then this nighttime adventure happens, and I swear I'll never forget the feeling. If you can imagine feeling the pressure of a baby's head rotating in your cervix/pelvic area, like from hip to hip (spinning like a lotto ping pong ball in the little cradle hole!) and along with it, my belly twisting and warping like I don't know what was going to happen! I was just laying there, on my back, spread eagle, like whoa, whoa, whoa! It happened kind of fast and DH did not even wake up. It was the freakiest and coolest thing I've ever experienced!

So from then on, the baby is now still head down but I think faced back with its spine straight up the middle and the butt just above my belly button. Every once in a while and especially at night I get this torpedo protrusion of hard tight baby butt right in the top middle of my belly and it kind of hurts! And the kicks and pokes are now inside and to the back of me so not much of the belly waves, which I do miss but this new position is interesting!

My kid is going to come out and want its hiney rubbed all the time because that's all I do when it sticks out!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Has anyone felt such a change in position? This was just a flip over like rolling over in bed. I could not even imagine what it feels like for a breech baby to right itself this late!!!! Chat Icon

I did. My baby was breech and I packed the top of the tummy with ice for about an hour on and off.. All of the sudden I felt my whole stomach move around and I clearly felt the baby move big time. I will also never forget that. It was totally weird. I haven't been checked since then so I don't know if the baby is totally turned.. but, I hope so!Chat Icon

So cool! I just did a quick search on Babycenter.com and found a spinningbabies.com link with some interesting info.

This pic kind of shows what happened to me. It shows exactly what I envisioned...

So I think I went from Right Occiput Posterior to Left Occiput Anterior (but more centered than left).

I'm sure anything can happen in the time I have left but I wonder if all my anxiety about getting to the third trimester, I could go any day now is making the baby get ready super early!

Can't wait to talk to the doctor about this one next week!
