Any words of wisdom for a 1st time traveler?

As some of you may know DH and I are taking Ryan to Florida 2 weeks from today. While we are extremely excited I think I am even more nervous about traveling with the baby.

Any advice from BTDT moms? Ryan will be cosleeping with us in the hotel so a Pack N Play isn't needed. I am planning on bringing him up to boarding in the stroller and have the stewardess take it away. We are using the infant carrier as a car seat when we get to FL so we plan on putting it with our checked luggage.

I figured if Ryan has 2 explosive diapers a day (which never happens) I will need 30 diapers for the whole trip. I am still trying to figure out baby food. We go to the ped for his 6 month well visit this Friday. I am pretty sure he will tell us to start veggies. I guess I can ship that ahead of time to the hotel so I don't have to worry about packing it.

Anyway, I am rambling and thinking out loud. Please feel free to offer your advice. Whether it be packing related, airport related, or anything in between.

Ahhh, the first time traveler. I made quite a list for my first trip

My MAIN advice is to just pack w hat you need for a day and a half of traveling (weather delays, etc) and buy the rest in Florida! You can buy diapers and baby food at CVS/Walgreens, etc.

As for the infant carrier, you can gate check that as well an I'd do that. When my SIL brought my niece to visit us the first time they lost her infant carrier b/c she checked it So take it up to the gate with your stroller and check both of them. And if they have a seat available, then you can choose to use it on board as well.

When we went to Fl when Kaydyn was 5 months I packed diapers and food/formula for one day in her diaper bag. Everything else I bought down there. As Kate said...you can buy the stuff everywhere and it was so much easier than packing everything.
