Anybody bring their kids on a cruise??
My kids are 9 and 4 and we wanted to bring them to Disney next year but we would love to do a cruise. The Disney cruise sounds so expensive. Do you think they would enjoy a cruise as much as Disney-either to Bermuda or the Caribbean?

Re: Anybody bring their kids on a cruise??
I think so.
We just got back from a cruise 2 weeks ago with our 1 year old son. Granted their was nothing for him there to do because the kids programs are from ages 2 and up. Anyways I saw a lot of kids on the cruise. A lot of these ships are geared for family cruises, especially Carnival. Norwegian too...
Bermuda is gorgeous. They have a zoo and aquarium, crystal caves. I don't know about what the other islands have because I've mainly been to the beaches but now that we are parents i'm sure all our future cruises will include researching what's out there for kids. But I think you should be able to find stuff.
Norwegian Cruise Lines have cruises to Florida and the Bahamas that leave out of new york. We did one a few years ago to florida and bahamas and one of the stops was Orlando. We were there for like 8 hours and went to Universal studios. If you have anymore questions FM me.

Re: Anybody bring their kids on a cruise??
Oh you can surely go to Disney for the day. Absolutely! You can book an exercursion with cruise ship. That way they will provide you with the transportation to the park and back to the ship. That's how we did it when we went to Universal. Granted it was a lot because we got express passes so we can bypass the long lines. We had to do it otherwise we would have never had the time to do the rides that we did. There were lines that were 90 mins long but with the express passes I think the longest we waited was 20 mins tops.
Anyways since we booked the excursion with the cruise ship they provided us with buses that took us to Universal and then back to the ship. We had to be back on the ship by 6 so the last bus ride back to the ship was at 5 because it was a 45 min ride to the ship.

Re: Anybody bring their kids on a cruise??
We did this cruise 3 years ago and Matthew was not born yet. So since we had no kids that's why we opted not to do Disney and did Universal. It was great but if we did have kids 3 years ago then our choice would no doubt have been to do Disney.
I do plan on taking DS there one day. Maybe when he's older. I'm not keen on the idea of going on a plane when my son is 2. 2 is the terrible phase and somehow being on a plane with a 2 year could be asking for trouble. My brother recently went to San Francisco with my almost 2 year old nephew and he said he was a pain in the a$$ on the plane.

Re: Anybody bring their kids on a cruise??
I did the Disney cruise on my Honeymoon and it was WONDERFUL! You are not going to take a better cruise! It was expensive but worth it. I'm hoping one day to do the land and sea with Jared. Cruising and Disney...what a vacation!!

This cruise is much cheaper than the Disney and it goes out of NY. Thanks!
