Anybody know what kind of bird this is?
DH and I saw it when we went to Florida, and we weren't sure if the beak is supposed to be that long..or if the poor bird has a deformed beak. He was scraping his beak along the ground to eat....

Long-billed curlew? http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/i2640id.html

The curlews' have a very long beak, like the photo you have. The whimbel and sandpiper don't have extremely long beaks.
