Anyone a Permanent Sub??
Just wondering if anyone is?? My husband just got offered that until the end of the school year so we are really excited!!! It just sucked that he had to tell the other schools he was subbing in that he will not be able to sub anymore this year for them!!!

Re: Anyone a Permanent Sub??
I was a perm sub and that is how I got my job - I think it is a great stepping stone if positions become available in the district. I found it great bc I got to know the philosophy/curriculum/style of the district before I became a probationary teacher.

I am one. I had actually 2 back-to-back leave replacements in my certification subject, so it's nice to have consistency for the rest of the school year.
Who know's for next year

Re: Anyone a Permanent Sub??
I was permanent subbing up until about a month ago. My biggest problem was that I need to know what I'm walking into before I get there...I couldn't handle the constant stress of not knowing what I'd be doing that day.
I guess you could say I'm a wimp LOL...but it was also middle school, and I'm elementary certified...so it was a little out of my comfort zone!

Just a little bit of advice. As a former perm sub. Make sure you find out if this school hires their perm subs. Some schools don't because they don't want to lose their subs. Which is of course what I experienced. I got great experience but it was a waste because it was never going to lead to anything.

Re: Anyone a Permanent Sub??
I wish your DH good luck! I was a sub in 4 districts on LI. I cut it down to 2 then I interviewed for two schools in the same district. I took the perm sub over the leave replacement position. I then ended up going into a leave replace and was hired one month after that. I am in my second year teaching and LOVE it!!!
