anyone and lawyer & know about employement law?
I have a question re: a non-compete agreement.... specifically- Non-compete signed w/o consideration. MEaning - i signed the non-compete 2 years into my tenure, but didn't receive anything in exchange for signing the agreement. I read on find law- that continued employement isn't enough consideration and that to be valid- something else has to be offered by employer to employee for signing, is this true?

I'm not a lawyer, but when I took employment law during graduate school, I was taught exactly what you posted!

I believe consideration can be as little as $1. but it has to be something and even if you didn't get any consideration; it doesn't void the entire contract.
This was my explaination of a non compete but I'm not an attorney and may be wrong.
