anyone bfing 5+ months?

i feel like the only one bfing these days. everyone keeps asking me when i'm going to stop (like i'm a freak for doing it so long or i'm messing my ds up or something.)

i AM trying to get ds used to a bottle again (he used to take one but won't anymore. ) all he does now is suck the tip and then chew on the nipple.

anway, just wondering if there are any other bfing moms out there and how long are you planning to bf?

10 months today and still going strong. Its wearing me down though. Mainly this week since he's teething so badly, he doesn't want to eat and stays up all night nursing.

I made it to the 1yr mark and I must say it got more difficult towards the end between the teeth and just her overall size(much easier to nurse a newborn than someone that's big enough to walk to you and climb up on your lap). DD is now almost 14mths. She drinks soy milk now but I still can't seem to completely wean her off of me just yet. I still nurse her once when she first wakes up in the moring. I joke that it's her morning cup of coffee because if she doesn't get up boy do I have one cranky baby on my hands!

I fear this kid won't ever want to wean. But it is completely different. Either we have to be laying down or he sits on my lap with his legs between mine to jump away the second he's finished and go play.

The teeth haven't been a problem since one night when I scared the hell out of him.

i'm still going at 7 months, she drinks mostly formula when i'm at work though.
i'm probably going to start to wean her over the next 2 months.

i like the calorie burning i.e. weight loss that is involved.

DD will be 6 months on Monday and I bf... although, I do give her one bottle of formula on most days
ETA- I'm gonna aim for a year, but we'll see how it goes

DS is almost a year and I'm not planning on weaing him anytime soon. I'll wean him gradually over the next few months -- following his lead.

Me. And we're approaching the 6 month mark on November 1st (DS gets bottles of pumped BM while at daycare and then we BF when together.)

I plan to BF for at least a year. My mom BFed my sister and me until we were about 2. She did child led weaning and that's what I plan to do.

I made it six and a half months. It was hard to give it up and I miss it sometimes, but trying to pump at work was really hard.

I made it to 14 months! I would get "are you going to stop' all the time but it isn't anyone's business!

My DS is 16 months and I still BF once a day. I EBF for 12 months though. A lot of moms on here do too, I think. People stopped asking me when I am stopping. I figure he will stop completely when he is ready. My aunt, who is a pediatric nurse, says that at long as he is weaned by Kindergarten everything is cool.

I EBF for 6 months and then continued BFing until 8 months. I would have gone longer, but once I started to introduce formula my milk supply started decreasing. There's no reason you should stop now if it's working for you!

I EBF. DD is two months now and I plan on giving her BM until she is a year old if all goes according to plan. I go back to work when she is 6 1/2 months old so I plan on nursing her when I'm home and bottles during the day. Currently she takes a bottle of BM almost everyday from DH.

4 months so far and I had planned to go to at least 6. But I've worked out a nice groove with work and pumping, so I may got for a year- or until I get pg again.....

I BF and pumped until DD was 11 months.

You should be so proud of yourself for BFing. Don't let other people make you feel awkward about your personal decision to continue BFing. If you want to and can continue, I say, "you go girl!!!"

Almost 6 months and I still BF. On the days that I'm at work I BF 2-3 times a day and the days I'm home I BF 3-4 times a day and supplement with formula. I just love it and am not ready to give it up yet.

my son will be 15 months on saturday and he is still breastfed. He has NEVER had a bottle. He started using a cup at about 10 months (for water) and now drinks yogurt drinks and milk in a cup as well.

DS is almost 4 months.

I BF and pump. I have my routine with work and pumping. It's not easy but plan on keep doing it at least until DS is 6 months. I really would like to keep doing it until he is 1.

DS is 9 1/2 months and no signs of slowing down anytime in the near future. I'm pumping until 1 year and then will try to BF until 2 years and stop whenever he's ready after that. Hopefully not past 2 years, this BFing thing is exhausting!

ETA: Ignore people. Just do what you feel is best, most don't understand what you're going through unless they've been there.

I forced my daughter to wean at 26 months when I was pregnant with #2 and she was showing no signs of self weaning. Keep up the great work mommas!

I have been BF for one day shy of 4 months now - I was pumping on occasion for when we went out for errands for the day or when we gave her to my parents for a dinner out - but she has been refusing bottles. I plan on BF for at least 1 year - since that is the recommended time - not sure if I will go past that or not - I am planning to see how I feel at that time.
