Anyone bring work home to do?

Right now I should be doing my work, but I can't focus. I don't have time during the day to get this done so now I am trying to do it here. Ugh.

Vent over

Hollie, as a fellow social worker, I can definitely relate. I used to take work home all the time! But, I learned that it is so unhealthy. You have to develop very clear boundaries between your work life and your personal life...especially when you have to listen to people's sad/difficult stories as a social worker. You and your husband deserve time together.

Re: Anyone bring work home to do?

The question really should be when DON'T I bring work home! I'm a Special Education/Collaborative English Teacher and no matter how much I get done at school, there's always more to do at home. Grading essays and IEPs make up my lovely evenings!

Yes, sort of. I only work part time, so I have to do my work at home when I have free time. I should be doing work now, and I just don't feel like it.

Re: Anyone bring work home to do?

When it's really busy at work. When my option is to work until 10pm or bring some work home - I bring some work home. The break (commuting & dinner) clears my head a bit and I usually get through it in half the time it would in the office.

Re: Anyone bring work home to do?

I used to bring some paperwork home when I was working FT.
There just wasn't enough time at work to get it done.
It happened 2x a year, for a few nights, so, not too bad I guess.
