anyone buy a dining set from ikea?
DH and i are going tonight to check them out, just wanted to see if anyone had a good experience there.

my girl friend bought one last year, but just the table she got the chairs some place else. its nice it held up well.

We have the Bjursta table and some chairs that are discontinued. We'va had it for close to 2 and a half years now and its held up well.
It has a leaf to expand, and I think it looks a lot nicer than what we paid for it

do not get the one from the Markor (sp?) line...they are not "real wood" or sealed...I nver thought of this (we have the end tables) and have marks from bowls and cups

I have one that is glass and metal (don't remember the name - the chairs are a straw type material and metal). We've had it for 2 years now and it's held up nicely. We haven't had any issues.

this is the one we want to get  we loved it in the store, we are waiting till we move next week to pick it up.

We have the Bjursta table as well and highly recommend it. We had it for two years. However, its veneer. We are recently noticing that the veneer is coming up on the edges. I think water must have gotten under there somehow.
