Re: anyone delivering at...
A friend of mine delivered there and she raved about the maternity staff, the cleanliness, etc. She said they offered pre/post birth classes, etc. That was about two years ago. It seemed very nice when we visited

Re: anyone delivering at...
I think Corinne is delivering there, but this baby brain I have lately, I keep forgetting and mixing up things! But if it is the same place, I know she gets a lobster or a steak dinner the night before she leaves the hospital with her hubby!
How are you feeling Melissa?

OMG Rach I feel like arse. Just last week I was posting about how great I felt and that maybe I was one of the lucky ones not to have m/s. Well I was sadly mistaken. Although I found that ginger pills are helping a bit. Thanks for asking, how about you, showing yet?

I'm sorry to hear you're stricken with the lovely experience of m/s I'm slightly showing, but I think it's more chub than anything Luckily, anyone that hasn't known I'm preggo is surprised when I tell them, so I guess I'm not showing so much, yet. My m/s is gone, but I still gag really easily I have more food aversions than anything else. I can't eat junk food or chicken these days. And going to the supermarket still is a difficult task, but hey, that's what I have JT for How far along are you? Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon!

Re: anyone delivering at...
andrealmt is delivering there hopefully today and i am in 3 weeks. the hospital is very clean and the staff is nice. they offer alot of classes for free and you should take advantage since they are very informative, usually other hospitals charge, my sil had to pay $40 for the same prenatal offered at LIJ Northshore. Also took our lamaze class there. Ive heard good things about the hospital and when you take the classes they are taught by the nursing staff that is maternity and delivery nurses. they offer prenatal, child care, labor and delivery, bf classes and infant and child cpr classes all free.

Re: anyone delivering at...
I had my 2 kids there. I thought the L&D nurses were very good (but can't compare firsthand since I hadn't delivered anywhere else). I liked all of the classes they offered, the lactation support, visiting hours, etc. My son was in the special care unit for a week (preemie). We were going back & forth several times a day so I could nurse/pump or just hold my son. I can't tell you how much we loved the the nurses there. You felt like they were rooting for every baby. I remember one that was excited to tell me that Joseph came out of the oxgen hood. They were all wonderful.
When Maddie was born, she had freckles all over her face - and the pediatrician didn't say anything about them. I said to the nurse "I can't believe my daughter has my freckles already!" She knew that it wasn't freckles yet, that it was essentially road rash from being delivered so fast. They were very informed.
For her kids, my twin delivered at Winthrop and at Stony Brook. I was in the L&D room @ Winthrop with her which was fine. Stony Brook was ok but their visiting hours were stricter.
