Anyone delivering at Southside Hospital?

I just found out that my OB does most of her deliveries there. I just assumed that she would deliver me at Good Sam. She said that it's no guarantee, but if she's delivering at the same time at Southside, she can't leave that hospital to come to Good Sam. I am determined to deliver at Good Sam, but I want to make sure that it's my OB.

I guess it's a chance I can take, but for those who are delivering at Southside, are you ok with the hospital? I took my nephew to the ER a few weeks ago and we walked out, I hated it that much, but I'm not sure about the Maternity department there?

If you will deliver there, what was the deciding factor. If you won't deliver there, then can I ask why?

my husbands cousin delivered there 3 or 4 years ago and said it was nice. supposedly the maternity ward had just been redone and they gave her a candlelit last dinner on her last night.

I delivered at Southside, and LOVED it!! My SIL delivered at Good Sam 2 weeks later, and everyone preferred southside over good sam, hands down. The waiting room at southside is excellent (at good sam you do the majority of the waiting in the lobby) and southside is bright and cheery. We found good sam to be darker. Also, at good sam, while laboring, my sil wasnt allowed many people in her room---you were allowed to see her for 5 minutes, then had to leave. At southside, I could have as many people as I wanted, as long as I wanted. It really helped my labor fly. If I were you, I would maybe take a tour of both places if you can, and determine it that way.

I also delivered at Southside and have nothing but good things to say about them. I will be delivering back there again next month. Their maternity ward is gorgeous and clean, the staff is excellent. SweetCin also just delivered there and was happy with them also.

I have also been to their ER and its not my favorite. Maternity ward is completely different.

OMG I delivered at Southside 2 wks ago & absolutely loved it. I was sad to leave. The nurses were absolutely wonderful; the maternity ward is totally redone & they have 9 private rooms. Everything was top notch, I was thrilled w/ my experience there.

I'm curious who your Ob/GyN is...is it Dr. Polidoro?

I originally thought I was going to deliver at Good Sam & then was told they only do deliveries at SS---yet I'm so glad it worked out how it did.

I am delivering at Southside as well. I just took the tour of labor and delivery on Saturday. It seemed bright, clean and the nurses were so nice to us as we walked through. They do tours on Saturday mornings at 9:00.
