Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
We are expecting our 2nd baby and I am thinking about what color we will paint the new baby's room.
We will not find out the sex of the baby, as we did with my older daughter Emily, but I am really not crazy about doing yellow or green again.
I was thinking about doing Baby Blue, and thinking about bedding options for a girl room if it does end up being a girl.
With Emily, we didn't purchase the bedding until she was 3 months old. We will probably do the same with this baby, buying the bedding after he/she is born and we know the sex, but I'd still like to get a head start on setting up the baby's room.
Looking for any paint color suggestions, or pics if you've done it before!
Thanks in advance! Melissa

I have a DS, but I rememeber 4PsInaPod (is that the new username???? lol) did an aqua-ish blue wall when she was team green and it would have looked lovely for a girl or a boy!
I also have seen a blue nursery with a white chair rail (sp?) and white furniture, and then blue and pink and white bedding and accents. Beautiful!

I def think light blue would be ok if you have a girl. You can just coordinate bedding, accents...etc to be more girly colored.

Re: Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
This was the bedding that we used with Emily --- and it does have light blue in it if we decided to use it again. There are a few other sets at Pottery Barn Kids that would be great for a girl with a light blue room, and I think I could do a lot of beautiful accessories to make it girly.

Re: Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
I used to have a light blue in my bedroom, that was spectacular against pink. I don't remember what it was, something from BM for sure. It was misty, stormy, something along those lines. It was the most feminine blue... when we were going to paint DS room, DH said "not girly blue like your room" lol I think it was just girly against all the pink in there.
what I would do, is grab a pink swatch and hold it up against light blues, see if the combo looks feminine to you or not. I think blue and pink can be very girly together. and blue and green very boyish.
I remembered it! BM misty blue
I think this can easily go from boy to girl with a few touches of another color
here is a another example

Re: Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
My nursery room was painted a pale blue, I think it was called Monet Blue. We didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. Turns out we had a boy. However, when the second came a long and we found out it was a girl, we kept the nursery that pale blue. We got bedding that was light blue and greens. I think it was One Little Froggy by Brandee Danielle. I loved it for a girl!

Re: Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
Thank you so much everyone for the ideas and pictures! I am going to have to visit some paint stores and get some swatches, to look at with our existing bedding and also some of the bedding sets that I like online. I am definately leaning towards another PB Kids bedding set, even if we end up having a boy. It was such beautiful bedding when we had it for DD, very well made.
Keep the pictures coming if anyone else has them!
Thanks, Melissa

Re: Anyone do baby blue walls in a girl's room?
My DD is a little older. She is going to be 4 but I have light blue in her room and love it. She is super girlie and everything is pink so it's nice to have something different in her room. Her bedding has big multi colored daisies all over it. So it's still super girlie

I painted my DD's room a darker blue and I LOVE it! The color in this picture is not great though, but one of the only ones I have.

I painted my DD's room blue. I knew I was having a girl and I've always loved blue. I am attaching a pic of the inspiration room that I used for her room.
