Anyone do swim lessons at the YMCA
Do you have to be a member? There is one down the block from our house and I got a flyer in the amil and they hav elessons, but wasnt sure if you had to be a member to sign up

yes, we do lessons at the ymca in bay shore. they're great! you dont' have to be a member. DC can have a program membership, which i think is like $65 for the year and then you can sign up for other programs after that. it's worth it!

that is the one we live near!! SO you pay $65 for the programs membership, then have to pay for the swim lessons as well??

yup...at first it's a little pricy, but it's an 8 week program and then like i said you can sign up for other programs without having to be an actual member for the whole year. We started doing lessons last summer, then during winter we did the "butterflies" mommy and me gym class (we're still doing it...so much fun ). AND Dh is doing swimming with DD right now. I'm going to do swimming with her again in the summer when I'm off.

Yep, I agree. Happy there and like pp said, you just pay the program membership.

We have a membership and we love it there. DS loves the classes I take him to three times a week.

We take swim at our local Y...have been for a while now. We did group when she was younger, but now she takes private there and they are $$. we love our instructor!
