Anyone else ever have hoarseness for months on end?
I'm a teacher, so I use my voice a lot. But this is ridiculous...I had full-on laryngitis back in September, and my voice has never fully gone back to normal.
I have an appointment w/ an ENT in two weeks. I'm so scared at what they're going to find.

i had that once a bunch of years ago. basically had the flu, and lost my voice completely. i was out of work about a week and a half because of it. but even when i went back, i would get horrible sore throats from talking all day, and my voice would be hoarse. it took a long time for it to finally get better. i also went to an ENT about it. i think he said there was inflammation when he did the scope and it would just take time to go away.

My MIL had this and it turned out to be acid reflux. She went on some heavy meds and a restricted diet for about a month and it went away. Now I think she just takes a prescription reflux pill daily. Feel better

was just goping to say this! definitely gerd! I had the same thing was scoped int he office and when they said I had GERD I couldn;t beleive it, the only symptom was hoarseness. This was after bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis, they finally sent me to an ENT and this is what he found

I was just about to ask, did you have any other symptoms? I don't feel like I have any acid reflux going on, but I guess you never know.
Although...I have noticed that it's MUCH worse at night. Like, I'll go to tell my husband to turn over because he's snoring  and I don't have much of a voice. Very annoying.
Never would have even thought of that!

I have GERD too and never feel heartburn. I have the hoarseness and when I go more than a day with overeating and bad choices, I get a cough, too. Once I get myself back into check by not letting myself get overfull, I feel better. Definitely go to an ENT.
