Anyone else feel like a complete spaz around people?
DS and I have a great rhythm when it's just him and me.
But after spending this last week on "Logan Tour 2007" I've noticed that I get all nervous and spazzy around others.
I can't seem to stop him crying and I feel all awkward with him.
Will I outgrow this at some point?

DS is 17 month old and I feel like a spaz all of the time. I get fidgetty and awkward too.
I don't think that it seems that way to other people on the outside though. I feel it on the inside but it's not as obvious to everyone else. It gets easier.

I felt this way for a long time but it definitely gets better - they are constnatly changing but I think we learn to anticipate that and go w/the flow

I'm the same way with my little Logan...
I can talk to him and soothe his cries when its just us, but when family is over I just feel awkward.. I feel like I am going to embarass myself or something..

I used to! But then I realized that since I spend the most time with Lily, she's the most comfortable with me....and that helped to relax me a little. And I kept the 5 s's technique in my back pocket so that I can look like magic when I calm her down when no one else can!

I felt like this for the LONGEST time. I mean probably up until a few months ago. I always felt like people were judging my every move (adn they probably were). Finally, I don't know when or why, but finally something just snapped inside of me and I stopped caring about anyone other than Ava and how happy she is. So, give it time, you will eventually stop feeling so self-conscious around others.

It's funny...maybe ALL moms feel this way at one time or another. I know I do!
I always see other moms in the mall or wherever...and they always seem to have it all together.

I agree. That'll fade as you gain more confidence.

That's how I feel. Like everyone else always has it together and I'm bumbling.
Good to know it's a normal feeling.

I feel like everyone is watching me and critiquing me. Like "oh, he is crying, let's see how fast she can quiet him down"

I always did, still do sometimes with her crawling all over. I feel like I have ADD sometimes, because I can't fully give someone my attention and have a full adult conversation with her in the area! I try to, but I always have her getting into things, climbing me like a monkey, etc.

I thought it was just me who felt like this. When I'm at home I feel like I'm a good mom and I can totally do this. But when I take her out, I feel like people are watching me and I turn into such an idiot.

Re: Anyone else feel like a complete spaz around people?
Soooo me!!!!!!!
Even in front of my family. I am afraid to act in a certain way with Megan, a way that I do act with her when we are home alone. I know that I am a good mother but I always feel like I am being judged. Which I probably am not..but its a feeling I cant get over. I find it much better when I am totally alone with her for days on end, then I can keep it up.
