anyone else feel like their toenails are ruined by pedicures?!
ugh, i love getting pedicures, but my toenails look horrible!! i dont know if it's the way they file them or what, but they are so brittle and chip so easily!! i just took off the polish that was practically completely chipped off anyway and think i need to give my toesies are break for a few weeks. i do need to get one before my sister's wedding feb 18 though, but i guess i will hold off until then.

I've taken a break from polish since it's gotten cold out (probably november). It's the first time since probably high school that I don't have nail polish on my toes.
I plan to keep ot this way until March (ish) when the weather gets a little warmer. I just cut and file every other week. I do feel like they are healthier.

yes i hate my toenails after a pedicure wears off. i have white spots on my big toenails because of the nail polish...well i think that's what its from. it's embarrassing

Ok this is TMI, sorry
BUT, my toenails were yellowish and peeling - I was scared it was a fungus so I told my dermatologist. She confirmed it was just from ALWAYS having polish on them. You know how toenail polish stays on FOREVER?
She wanted me to only get polish for special occasions  I couldn't do that but once the fall comes I go and get a pedicure with NO polish and NO buffing. Just a plain pedicure once a month and my toesnails are perfect now!
Towards the end of the summer season, they start to get yucky again but then the process starts all over again.

Yeah it does, if you leave it on for more than 2 weeks. Even my nail lady told me this!

Stop all nail polish. The bad area will grow out over the next few months.
I always take a break from nail polish in the Winter.
It also happens if you leave nail polish on too long. You are supposed to take it out after a few days, take 1-2 day break, then put nail polish again. Otherwise, your nails cannot breathe and turn yellowish and peel.
