anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
they are trying a vbac?
baby is regular size and in position.
I have so much groin pain...had 2 days with josh...this one is over 3 weeks of saying ouch every step i take.
dr is so pro vbac, he tried convincing me to move back my due date from 39 weeks to 41. he really wants me to go for it. I appreciate it, and honestly, my number one reason for doing it is to be in and out of the hospital.

it's a tough choice! being in & out of hospital sounds great and no recovery time.

Re: anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
My OBs are pro-VBAC but one wanted me to schedule a C for 40 weeks
I told him (and I have the support of at least 3 other OBs) that I am waiting till 41 weeks and only then will I schedule a C.
I am soooo much more uncomfortable this time around but I really, really, really want to have a VBAC so I am dealing. DS is not allowed in the hospital and I don't want to be away from him for 4 days if I can help it, and then to not be able to pick him up would hurt me even more.
Unfortunately I have a sneaking suspicion that she turned and is breech so that might not even matter... I'll find out for sure on Monday.

Re: anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
I had a VBAC. I cannot even tell you how much easier the recovery was. Thank goodness because the thought of taking care of 2 feeling like i did after the c/s scared me. It was also great that the stay was shorter because being away from DD was heartbreaking.
I delivered at 41w2d. I had until 42w to go into labor on my own. At 42 I had a gentle induction scheduled. If I couldn't be induced gently & easily it would've been a c/s, but I had 2 weeks past my DD before it would come to that.

Re: anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
They're anticipating another super-sized baby for me, but if I do go into labor prior to 38 weeks, my drs are more than willing to let me attempt a VBAC. As much as I'd love to not be stuck in the hospital for 4 days, I have to admit I'm a little nervous about the entire concept.

Re: anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
I'm having a repeat c-section. I talked to my doc and he is ok with me going into labor before my date and trying for a VBAC. So I scheduled my c-section for as close to my due date as possible. I'm due on Sunday March 7th and my c-section is scheduled for Friday March 5th. I'm ok with having another c-section so I would rather have a date that I can plan around. You have to do what is comfortable for you.
ETA: Thank goodness the ban on children visiting the hospital was just lifted at the hospital I am delivering at b/c I was really stressing about not seeing DD for 4 days.

Re: anyone else have a c-section date, but if labor occurs first
that is my stress. my hospital ban is still on.
I know he will be okay with dh, but it makes me sad that dh will have so little time with new baby.
