Re: As my c-section date gets closer

You are gonna do amazing...just think, no contractions at all...I am a little jealous...

After that the fun/hard stuff begins. You're gonna question yourself EVERY, single day...a hundred times. But you will NEVER love anything like that little peanut about to make his appearance. When you hear his first cry he will own you...and it's an amazing feeling/

Just remember how strong you are and have been in getting to this point and everything that you have gone through...the rest will be cake...

PS, we'll all be here if you have a moment and need to vent and then you can pay it forward and do it to the mommies due later this year because they do the same thing Chat Icon

Welcome to ALMOST mommyhood, we'll be waiting for you! Chat Icon

ETA: the only thing that got me through my delivery three weeks early was COMPLETE denial, it was too early and I wasn't ready...so it wasn't happening...she, however, was completely ready for me.

Yes! I called my godmother on the way to the hospital and cried like a baby. I was so nervous, and scared. You'll be fine. Once you have your little Chat Icon in your arms, you'll KNOW you can do it!Chat Icon

Re: As my c-section date gets closer

EVERYTHING you are feeling is SO normal Deb. It is THE most scariest feeling in the world knowing this little creature that you and Darren CREATED....will depend on you for EVERYTHING....to eat, for comfort, to ease his sorrow and pain ,to entertain him. Oh my goodness....it is so overwhelming yet so fulfilling at the same time.

You will cry from being overwhelmed and overjoyed. It's such a miracle....I look at my Alyson Paige and I still have moments when a lullaby will make me cry because I love her so and would lay my life down for her.

It's all going to fall into place and you'll get washed over with this feeling....that nothing else in the world even remotely matters. and when you go for your brain surgery.....Your lil' man will be the one thing that will keep your will going....to make it through so you can make him the lil muffin man that he is destined to be.

The johnson & Johnson commercial is SO true....

Re: As my c-section date gets closer

Also Deb, I just wanted to tell you that as far as the c-section goes, I was terrified of it, but mostly, I was scared of the recovery. But less than two weeks later, I feel fantastic. I'm moving around normally and have zero pain other than some residual back pain from sleeping on it for so many nights. You're going to do a great job. I think the mommies that question themselves are the ones who really want to do the right thing. If you didn't care, then you wouldn't bother to worry about itChat Icon

Surreal is still like the word of the day in my house, Deb. I have been feeling like this for ten days now. When you go through most of your pregnancy anticipating a normal delivery, then WHAM, you have a scheduled c-section date, it all becomes very surreal. We found out five days before that I was having my section, and it was just long enough of time for me to really think about it. Really have it sink in that I was going to have the baby on that date, at that time. Like, after all those months of wondering when, I had an answer to a question I felt like should have had an open end to it. I don't know if that makes sense, but it left me feeling very unsettled. Happy, but unsettled. And that whole day after I had Ava, I just kept touching my belly and thinking, "Holy crap, that baby was in my belly this morning!" It was just so odd and foreign.

Nope - absolutely not prepared to be a mom & became one anyway. Perfectly normal. I wasn't the mom that attached myself right away. He was 6 weeks early & I was afraid to love and be let down in case something went terribly wrong. In fact, I can't even remember when it happened that I fell in love with my kids. All I do know is that it snuck up on me, got a hold of my heart and has only increased with every day.

Deb - I know you're going to be a wonderful mom. Since 30.5 weeks, you've been in excruciating pain - and yet, you continued dealing with it. I know I speak for every mother on this board when I say we would all lay our life on the line for our children. Every day you didn't give in & say 'I can't take it anymore' is one more day that your boy has grown and ensured his future. I hate to be the one to break it to you. Even if you think you're not ready to become a mother - you already are. You are more of a mother than any mom I have ever known.

Very normal. I think every new mom feels this way. I know I did. By the time the 9 months is drawing to an end, you are so uncomfortable you just want the baby out. Plus, you are excited to meet your little one but the reality of how your life is going to change settles in too. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Very normal, when the Dr siad I had to head for the hopsital to be induced I flipped out, I told him no I was not ready and we decided that I would go over in the morning instead. After 2 days of being induced they offered to do the c-section and I was like, let's go one more day since I was very nervous.

Oh god, there's nothing more normal than the fear of motherhood. I went through that everyday in my last trimester, and I cried buckets of tears my entire maternity leave. But, try to remember that it's exactly those emotions and fears that make you the best mommy in the world Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon And, of course, we're all here for you when you feel like you aren't Chat Icon

Absolutely normal. I cried like a baby all the way to the hospital the day of my induction because I "wasn't ready". I begged DH to turn the car around and wait a few more days to see if he would come out on his own, really only wanting to buy myself a few more days to feel "ready".

You'll be so fine. You'll be so okay.

Looking forward to having you join us here Deb! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
