Between DH & I, we've had 3 cybershots, and never had this problem. If you go to the Sony webiste, there's a troubleshooting section. Maybe you can find help there.

Re: anyone else have a sony cyber shot digital?

I have had that happen to me but only after I transfer the pictures to my computer & edit them while the cable is still connected to the camera & computer. Then when I go back to view the pictures on the camera when it is not connected to the computer & I get that. I guess it has something to do with the editing

Same thing has happened to me.

Specifically, if I try to change it on the computer (but the file is still on the memory card) such as flipping it from vertical to horizontal.

On a side note, does anyone else get the white orbs?

Re: anyone else have a sony cyber shot digital?

I don't think I have had this happen, but I press the wrong buttons on my cybershot all the time and weird things happen, but I know it was my fault. I have taken so many movies when I just meant to get photos!!!

Wow! Thank you so much for this info! This happens to me alot - and I always wonder why! So if you just download the pics, then disconnect the cable and then edit, it will be okay right? You just shouldn't edit with the cable plugged in?

Right, you can edit but you MUST disconnect the cable & you will not get the blue file error message
