Re: anyone have a sony cybershot digital camera?
No..... It takes to long to snap the picture and the flash does this flickering thing.
I can never get a good picture of Nate bc of the flash.... when it flickers he focuses on it and ends up looking startled in the pics.
My next camera will be from a company who specializes in cameras (Canon, Nikon, etc...)

I have a digital SLR (Nikon D70) but I wanted to give you a tip re: the delay & the flickering thing.
To get rid of the delay on a point & shoot digital camera - you need to hold the button half way down until you're ready to take the picture & then snap it. It will reduce the lag time somewhat.
Second - the flickering thing is more likely your red eye setting. Change the setting. Also to eliminate the "deer caught in the head lights" look, turn on as many lights in the house or take pictures outside then your flash won't be necessary.
There is a great website for those looking to buy digital cameras

I have the Canon A80 and I love it! Sometimes I think it takes too long to snap the pic though...but it may be a setting I can change

I have a Sony Cybershot...do not like it at all...actually, I don't like the prints from any digital camera.
So, DH went out this weekend and bought me a regular 35mm camera...with film! OMG...
It's a Cannon...I can't wait to start taking regular pictures again!!!!!

I just got a Canon Powershot. It's the SD400 model and I LOVE it! It is so nice and small, has lots of great features, is easy to use, and starts up and takes pictures soooo quickly. My DH is really into photography and usually uses a Canon Rebel digital SLR and he loves the camera too. I would highly recommend this camera.

i agree about the cybershot, I've had it for like 3 years and can't count the number of times I've missed pictures! BUT, I just figured out why after all this time, someone showed me. You first have to hold down the photo button half way so that it will focus, and then it will instantly take the picture when you press it down the rest of the way.

Re: anyone have a sony cybershot digital camera or a Canon power shot?
i actually just bought a sony cybershot, one of the really tiny ones, i don't recall the model number i believe it was a T3 or something. i hated it the pictures were so blurry, i returned it practically the next day. i just bought a kodak v530 it's much smaller than the sony and it's got really great features!

I have the Canon powershot A95. It takes great pictures. The the only thing I don't love about it is it's size. It is too big and heavy to put in a little pocketbook.

I have the Sony Cyber Shot 7.2 pixels also. I love it, but lately the pictures seem to be coming out blurry, specifically in low-lighting, but even with the flash on.
Any suggestions?

Did you change a setting on it? I don't have the Cybershot but there are several standard settings on a camera - from memory there are the ones I remember:
Rose - this you use for close ups Portrait (womans' portrait with a hat?) - use for portraits, will blur the background slightly & focus on the object in the center of the viewfinder Sport (usually guy running) - makes the shutter speed faster so Nighttime (moon over city) - will slow shutter speed down - and use the surrounding lights - think of those pictures of car lights or firework pictures RedEye (Eye symbol) - to elminate redeye, your flash will go off several times in an attempt to get your subjects pupils to contract so the when you take the picture light won't reflect off of your retinas When you use the nightime setting- you would have to hold the camera very steady or everything will be blurred.

Re: anyone have a sony cybershot digital camera or a Canon power shot?
Posted by fjbaby actually, I don't like the prints from any digital camera.
Have you tried digital SLRs? There is a world of difference between shots from the simple point & shoots vs the digital SLRs? Also if someone is shooting at a low or medium resolution - yes the prints don't compare.
The Canon runs about $660 @ B&H
Honestly - once you get one - you'll never go back to the 35mm. I can't even guess how much money it's saved me. I can go take photos of a friend's baby - and let them print their own pictures out...Also I think it's made me a better photographer because I can see my mistakes right away. I still have my Nikon N60 - but I'd never go back to it.
If you want I can email you some of the shots I took with my digital SLR to show you the comparison.
