Anyone else having major tooth issues with your pregnancy?
So I just came back from my 4th visit to the dentist so far since becoming pregnant. Keep in mind i'm only 23 weeks. I had a regularly scheduled cleaning, which turned into 2. Then at my second cleaning that I saw a tooth that really worried them, i had to get x rays and then it was determined I needed to have it extracted. So, they sent me to an oral surgeon, I had the tooth pulled and all was well.
I went back in today for a follow-up where they did further "excavation" and it turns out I need quite a few fillings done/replaced. 2 need to be done immediately (going back on Thursday), the other 4 can wait until after I have the baby in Feb. BUT, there's a strong possibility the dentist said that one of the teeth that I need to have filled on Thursday could actually need a root canal, he won't know until he does more digging. If it doesn't he'll just fill both and i'll be on my way. I'm crossing my fingers that I do not need a root canal. I told him I had not tooth pain, I guess that doesn't matter.
I just feel like this is one of those scenarios where if it can happen it will happen while pregnant. I'm so annoyed but I guess what can you do. Everything has been cleared by my OB and I'm not worried about it affecting the baby, I'm just annoyed to have to go through the pain/discomfort and that it can't wait.

Yes, but I have a degenerative condition to begin with, so we were not surprised by it. I had issues with my first PG also.

Re: Anyone else having major tooth issues with your pregnancy?
Yup!!!
I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and apparently all the vomiting I did caused 4 new cavities
I also have PG gingivitis. SO I had a deep cleaning done It was horrible and I have another cleaning next week.
The dentist doesn't want to work on teh cavities etc until after I have the baby because I have a history of sensitivity to anesthesia medications.
I swear my is breaking me
