Anyone else on strict bed rest?

I'm so confused! I went to the doctors on Thursday to have my FFN, cervical length and NST. I was supposed to see my high risk doctor during that time but he canceled. From the results of my cervical length, I went from measuring 37 mm two weeks ago to 32 mm. I know that it is still under 3 cm but it is a significant change. When I met with my OB that afternoon, she never mentioned anything to be concerned about. The sono tech had just given me the numbers after she was finished with the test.

In my file, the high risk doctor had written that at 30 weeks I was to go on strict bed rest with my feet and legs elevated 90-95% of the time. I'm 31 weeks now. My OB thought that was a little steep.

My question is...is there anyone else on strict bed rest as a precautionary measure? Knock on wood...I haven't had anything major to be concerned about. I have a communion and a wedding to go to on Saturday and I don't know if this means I'm not allowed to go. All I've been doing is resting lately.

Sorry to vent!! Chat Icon

Hey-
Can you call your high risk dr and ask him/her? A cervical length of 32 isn't so bad but since it went down from 37 they may want you to rest? I always asked my high risk dr specific questions as to what I could and couldn't do. I would call and ask about the wedding and the communion. The dr would tell me lay down and only get up to shower and go to the bathroom when I was on official bedrest.

Feel good and keep me posted!

I have a tentative appointment with the high risk doctor on Thursday (I hope he doesn't cancel). If he does, I will call and demand that I speak to him since he never told me that I had to be on strict bed rest directly. He just put the note in my file.

My OB had read me the note from my file that said strict bed rest at 30 weeks, off my feet 90-95% of the time...can only get up to shower and go to the bathroom.

Most of the weekend, I've been laying in bed or on the recliner, going crazy since the weather is so beautiful!!!

I will definitely keep you posted! Chat Icon
