Anyone else opting/opted out of the 12 wk ultrascreen?
DH and I have decided to skip this. We both said we would never terminate the baby anyway and my Dr. said b/c of my age she doesn't think its necessary. She also said people get false positives all the time and I would not want to deal with a pregnancy full of worry. I have also heard there might be a correlation between Autism and ultrasounds so I am really trying to limit the number of them I am having.
Anyone else not having this?

My doc never even mentioned it to me so I'm not stressing it. What will be will be

Dr. didn't mention it, didn't do it. He did discuss the 20 week screen w/ me and pretty much talked us out of it, thought it caused unnecessary worry. But this is a dr. that gives you 3D sonos a lot, so you have plenty of chances to see your LO.

Thanks for chiming in!! He never mentioned it a few days ago at my sono at 11w. I dont go back for another month so I was wondering about that. He's so laid back that it makes sense lol

Re: Anyone else opting/opted out of the 12 wk ultrascreen?
I had it with DS and am having one tomorrow for this baby. I am at the opposite spectrum... The unknown makes me crazy and worried. I need to do it for my own peace of mind. I pray we don't find anything wrong, but if we do I would much rather know ahead of time and be prepared as best as we can. Some things may require surgery straight after birth and that's good to know in advance, for example.

I opted out of the 12 week scan but had an amnio.

We didn't do the ultrascreen or first trimester AFP testing
