Anyone else wake up at night with side pains?
What is this? I am starting my 2nd trimester on Sunday and this week I wake up with terrible pains on my left and right side, both equally. Is this stretching??? At first, I thought it was just gas but it's pretty bad...

When I was in my 2nd trimester I had exactly that.... It literally stopped me dead in my tracks. In my 26th week it was so bad, I thought I was in pre-term labor and ended up in L&D. Of course, I felt like an idiot b/c it ended up that it was "round ligament stretching."

Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs. It helps me a little.
I actually have so much pain at night, I cannot turn from one side to the other.

Okay, so I'm not crazy. I also feel like I can barely turn over. I'm only 12 weeks! Is this going to get worse?

I got a bit better in 2nd trimester but as the belly grows (I am mostly belly!!) it is getting hard again as I start 3rd trimester.
Hang in there! There is an end to it! When the baby is born....
BTW, do you wear heels? I had to give them up at 10 wks. My lower back was killing me.

yes yes yes...
between the ligaments stretching AND the "pressure" from the growth/weight/baby, it's waking me up, too. it hurts to turn over...i want to cry. all part of the process i suppose.

Thanks girls.
No Sophie, I don't wear heels, I can't even think about it! It's all about the comfort lately
