anyone else's kid suck on their hands?!
Luce LOVES to suck on his hands. he tries to fit BOTH of them in there at the same time sometimes  he'll even spit the pacifier out b/c I guess his fingers taste better.
he doesn't necessarily do it when he's hungry either...more when he's tired. I guess he's trying to self-soothe but it's just hysterical.
my only issue is his hands then get very cold from being wet and then exposed to the air (especially at night).
is their any way to curb this action or is this his way of finding himself in the world (in which case I'll let him be)?

Tristan's ALWAYS got his hands in his mouth. There's not much you can do about it. I hear you on them being wet and cold, but if you put something over them, they'd stay wet and cold. at least when it's just skin, it dries faster.
I dont' think T is sucking for comfort, I think it has to do with teething more than anything else. Even though it might seem like they're miles away from getting a tooth, the doctor said it's a really long process and that their teeth are moving around under their gums long before they begin to break through the skin.
I'm assuming it will get better once he actually has teeth!

I don't know any way to curb this but Logan does it all the time. He started out with just trying to get his hands near his mouth - so funny to watch him stare at his hand knowing where he wanted it to go but not knowing how to get it there.
Then when he got it there, he started to lick it first. Now he munches on them all the time. As he's gotten better, he will just suck on one or two fingers sometimes. I hate that his hands get cold and wet too, but I think it is just them figuring stuff out - and if it makes them happy while they are at it, I guess it's ok.
Logan's hands were always cold before anyway - just like his mommy.

Natie definitely loves his hands. He'll be hanging out in his pack n play & I'll hear this slurping noise...I look & his mouth is full with his hands. Occassionally gagging. He started as soon as he discovered his hands...
I'm ALWAYS wiping them down especially when he's around other people & they're touching his hands.
My favorite is when he just sucks his thumb...

NONSTOP. She'll put anything into her mouth. She loves to suck on her feet! Seriously, I picked her up from daycare yesterday and noticed her sock was soaking wet!! I had to think for a second...it was definitely in her mouth!! Her mouthing is even more out of control than it's been in the past, and she already has 2 teeth!
She also has no use for the binky...it's rare when she takes it. The thumb works better.

DD is the same way right now. Even when she's eating she tries to get her thumb in her mouth at the same time! And most mornings she wakes up with the feet of her feetie pj's soaked from sucking on them.

Constantly. I'm not worried, and I don't want to stop her just yet. She hasn't mastered putting the binky in her mouth, and when we finally get around to CIO, I'm hoping she'll suck on her hands to soothe herself, since she does it during the day...

yes all the time. My stepmother is watching him for the first time today and she called to see if she could give him his bottle an hour early because he was sucking his whole fist. I told her he was probably just tired and then she said he fell asleep 10 minutes later.

unless he's too roly-poly to reach his feet! 
Logan loves to chew on his hands, and yes, they get cold and wet. I can tell they're cold, because he sleeps on top of them @ night. I tried putting mittens on him at night. He'll leave them on, but he sucks on them too and THEY get soaked and cold.
Just let him be
