Re: Anyone else's kids slow as molasses getting ready in he morning??
When DS was younger, we used to give him a bath at night and put him in the next day's clothing (usually tshirt and sweatpants or shorts). That way he's already dressed when he wakes up!

Anyone else's kids slow as molasses getting ready in he morning??
It’s the mornings and going to bed. Setting the timer on Alexa helps motivate DS.

Re: Anyone else's kids slow as molasses getting ready in he morning??
Mornings are so stressful. I have actually considered hiring someone to come in and do morning so I don't have the stress.
My kids will usually tag team who will be bad. They have draws and closets that are overflowing but can never find anything to wear. The morning takes constant nagging and redirecting from me to get them out the door on time.
We have a rule no breakfast until they are dressed. Sometimes it works sometimes they are eating and running out the door

Re: Anyone else's kids slow as molasses getting ready in he morning??
Yesterday, DD was touching up a drawing she did 3 years ago because something got smudged- 2 seconds before having to leave for the bus. I had to yell at her 3 times to get moving and go get her coat on!
Today it was some other nonsense she was doing- playing with something.
Again with the coming to me half way through dressing to waste time and procrastinate while in just her underwear. It was an important question too- "If there are 4 kids in a family, who is the middle child then?"
I swear I can't make this shitt up!
I am glad I am not alone in this though.

Re: Anyone else's kids slow as molasses getting ready in he morning??
normally by the time I get in my office at 8am I have: yelled at my kids to move their butts, broken up at least 3 fights, have to find someone's missing shoe, questioned why I had children, cried for having such thoughts, and given them the finger behind their backs for being turds....
my husbands morning consists of him getting up and going to work....

Oh let's not even go there. It comes thisclose to being a murder scene in my house every morning. My DS does not respond unless I am screaming like a crazy person.

YES!!! I don't cry for thinking bad thoughts though. Maybe if I had time to process what I was thinking, I might. LOL
And my DH skips out the door at 5:30 before everyone is awake and while I'm tossing eggos to my kids as we run out the door, he is just sitting down to a nice breakfast and hot cup of coffee with the guys for their morning meeting. F U!
