anyone else's Summer Monitor break?
We bought the handheld video monitor after Ds had his seizure. It worked great at first (we only bought it less then two months ago.) But after a month or so it kind of broke. It still works perfectly fine when plugged into the charger, but now when you unplug it from the charger, the screen doesn't show anything. I still have the receipt, though no box, so I'm hoping that Buy Buy Baby will just exchange it.

The problem isn't the same as yours, but maybe it'll give you some insight as to how to get a new one!

the screen only stays on if plugged in..not plugged it stays for a few minutes and switches to sound only

bbb's return policy is 90 days you should be fine. yeah our monitor goes out in a couple minutes and i have to keep pressing the button for the picture to appear. its a pain but so worth it.

Call the company and demand them to overnight you a new one. If they say they can't, tell them you know moms that have had it done. Do not take no for an answer!!!! (They have a year warranty on them.)

See, that's how it used to be. Now you get no picture at all of it's not plugged into the charger. It defeats the purpose of it being handheld if it must be plugged into the wall at all times.

I wish I called before the year was up. My battery dies constantly, the video cam antenna broke- I have had nothing but problems.

Nicole just call Summer customer service - they sent me a brand new one in just a few days via DHL. They only asked that I ship the old one back in the new box - they sent a prepaid UPS sticker.
I had a different problem, but once I exchanged the first one the 2nd one has been going for over a year!!!
When it's unplugged the picture only stays on for a few minutes to perserve the battery - but if its not doing that something is wrong!!

ITA. I just had a regular audio monitor from them in the beginning and had problems. I called them and they sent me a new one---no problem. I also had the TV type monitor....DH dropped it the other day though so it's in the garbage now. I just bought the hand-held video 2 days ago and love it.
