anyone ever audition for Millionaire?
I applied to audition for Who Wants to be a Millionaire this Thursday. I hope they call me, even though it's such short notice. Anyone ever audition?

I got the invitation to come to the auditions - but it was for couples who were getting married. DH couldn't make it to the audition, so we didn't go. Did those episodes ever air?

My brother was on Millionaire...the College edition. He was selected, then flown to Orlando, put up in a hotel for 2 days, they paid for theme park tickets (and filmed the college kids on rides and such), they didn't have to wait on any lines, and their meals were comped. Without even playing, he felt like he won already.
On the show, he won $16,000. Dh and I were 2 of his phone-a-friends. He didn't call us (thank God). It was really exciting.
He bought a car with his winnings.

Not according to my brother (maybe because it was the college edition, I don't know). He auditioned right at school (Queens College), filled out a questionaire, answered some trivia questions, and was interviewed. He said everyone was very nice.

in the early days you had to call and do like a fast finger question on the phone....mine was about hockey teams..I totally blanked..sports trivia not my strong point anyway..i never tried again..i just play along with the tv now

I did, the test is hard. I passed the test but I failed the interview. I think because I was so nervous. I was stumbling over myself. You have to answer 30 multiple choice questions in 10 minutes. Out of about 120 people in the room with me when I took the test only about 35 passed.

UPDATE!
I am "auditioning" Thursday at 7pm!!!!!!!!!
I have to take a test, and if I pass it, I get interviewed by some of the production team. If they like me, they will send me a postcard letting me know that I am in the contestant pool. And then HOPEFULLY I will get picked to go on the show!!!!

My brother did....he was on the old one with Regis Philbin...he only got to the pool of 10 and didn't get in the hot seat.
But that was his second game show so I don't feel bad for him

I did, back in the day when it was a fastest finger phone call.
I made it through the first 2 rounds with 100%, but was never called for an interview. Oh well.

Is the test really hard?? How long is it and what type of questions are on it?
It's not hard, per se, but the questions are like, you know it or you don't.
Some of the questions I remember are
"You're in Good Hands" is the slogan for what company?
"If you are shopping for 'notions', what are you going to be buying?'
There were also some sports questions and like, political questions, like the capital of a nation, or this country's first female prime minister. I don't remember any more specifics at the moment.
but some of the questions that showed up on millionaire AIM game were on the test.
There was also a question about cilantro...
