Anyone ever do the "park and fly" out of newark?

Anyone ever do the "park and fly" out of newark?
we're leaving for Mexico next Saturday and the IL's are flaking on taking us, possibly.
FIL agreed without a problem and now MIL thinks she wants to possibly go to MD to visit her brother. She truly can go any time. Plus, she's having major landscaping done and has company coming to stay for part of the week we're away. Ok, vent now over!
I think a better option for us is park and fly rather than taxi service. From Wantagh to EWR is probably $150+ each way. 
Park and fly would mean we would drive out Saturday night, stay over at a hotel near the airport and get up to 14 days of parking included. That would probably be $160.
Anyone ever done this?

It cost $125 -$150 from Northwest Nassau to EWR. It must be $200 from Wantagh. How long are you going for? DH and I usually use the long term lots at the airport and it is a lot less than $160.

Long term lot at Newark is up to $24 per day. DH and I opt to take car service when we go away longer than 3 days (but then again, we live in NJ, so it's no big deal). There are some cheaper alternatives within the limits of the airport that will park your car and shuttle you over. I think the ecomony lot at Newark is less than $20 per day.

Thanks for the options! DH and I will be gone for 8 days.
DH was really annoyed with his mother last night, and he never gets angry! Hopefully it all works out, but for now, I'm staying out of it!
