Anyone ever eat in a Shabu Shabu Restaurant
Never heard of it before...and I am going to one tonight with a group of friends - one friend set it all up!
They sometimes called it "Hot Pot Place" as well!
I heard someone loosely call it "asian fondue type place"
Anyone have any experience with a place like this...any recommendations/tips?

Re: Anyone ever eat in a Shabu Shabu Restaurant
I went to one in Las Vegas inside the Mandalay Bay hotel and it was delicious.
It was pots of hot boiling water (but flavored, almost like broth) and with spicy levels and then you dip in the meat and seafood and cook it yourself. they have vegetable platters you do the same thing with.
I think it would be good with 2-5 others but if it is more than that it can be too difficult.
I liked the vegetables and then they would have different dipping sauces to put the items in and some of those were very good!
You just have to be willing to try it and it will be very fun!
ETA: don't go to the place totally starving because it is a slow process, setting up the table and then cooking your own food, you do a few pieces at a time, not the whole meal at once, so I went super hungry and I was eating so much of my rice at once and stuff because the meat and main items were not ready. just know it goes a bit slow.
