Anyone ever take the Literacy CST?
I am in a Literacy program now. I don't have that much coarse work to go and I was wondering...should I take it now or wait???

I waited until my last semester (my Practicum). I felt like I acquired enough information to pass it and I did.
When are you done? Maybe you can wait just a little longer?

I got my masters in literacy from hofstra and i didnt have to take the CST. I just automatically got perm cert.
Maybe the rules have changed??

I went to St. Johns. I had to take the Comprehensive exams to get my perm. certificate and graduate.
You take the Literacy CST to become certified in reading.

I already have my cert in Elem Ed and will have my perm cert soon in elem ed. I am getting a Cert of Advanced Study in Literacy from Hofstra...Will I have to take the Literacy CST to get certified??? I thought I would...hoping I won't

i got my masters in literacy from brooklyn college. i had to take the literacy CST. i think you could def take it now to get it over with.

i didn't have to take the literacy CST when i got my masters in literacy. that was about 4 years ago

I got my masters in literacy at queens in 05 and took the test...it wasnt hard, since i had the course work..lots of multiple choice and essay was on a running record and conversation regarding comprehension...good luck!

I think you need the test. I took it in 04, when I was done with the program. I didn't find the test difficult at all. I also took the English CST, which was SUPER hard.
