Anyone ever try or know someone who tried the E Cigarette?

My brother bought me one for Christmas. I have yet to try it. I want to be focused when I do it, not try it and throw it back in the box. I have heard people who QUIT totally while using this. Any experiences?

it worked for me for awhile but i think it really depends whether your addiction is primarily focused on the drug itself, or whether the act of smoking is harder to break (sort of oral fixation type thing, i'm trying to say).
the e-cigarette (at least the one i used) still had nicotine, so i was still addicted to it, and it was so easy to pick up another cigarette when the opportunity presented itself.

I know someone who smokes the blucigs and LOVES them. He uses the cartriges that still have nicotine in them, but he ONLY smokes the bluecigs and not real ones.

He likes them because you can smoke anywhere, indoors, restaurants, and has no intention of quitting, but you could easily use them to quit by stepping down the level of nicotine in the cartriges. He swears by them,

My sister used this when she was trying to quit. She eventually went back to smoking.

I really think it depends on the person.

My step dad is using it right now trying to quit but I think he is using as a way to say he's tying to quit but he doesn't really want to. I don't see how it can help when they still have nicotine in them which is what is addicting. Every time I see him he's got that thing in his mouth.

i have 2 different ones. Neither taste good. I am trying to find one I like. I do use it when I have too. I actually cough more using the ones I have then with a real one. But Thats just me. I have to find one that works for me. Good Luck

DH bought one...it was OK...he didn't take it seriously to actually quit. It is good in theory if you really stick to it.

I bought them for me and DH finally. He was doing great at first (for a few months), but now he started buying cigs again. I "try" to use it, but not hard enough.

My friend's father used it and quit no problem. He then bought them all for us so we could quit. None of us did. Some have since but not using that thing. Like pp said, it's really about HOW you use it and in what kind of way you are addicted.

A friend developed pneumonia while using the e-cig.
Too much water vapor.

my friend had one, i tried it, it was cool for like a week and then she went right back to smoking

DH is currently using it now to quit...
He smokes only the e-cig, and not real ones anymore.. and is slowly stepping down the nicotine level - so I'm crossing my fingers he sticks with it!

I met someone - friend of a friend - at a party who had one. She wasn't using it to try to quit (said she didn't want to at this point), but her boyfriend got it for her in hopes that she would because he hated her smoking. And she used it only when she was around him, or when she wanted to smoke but couldn't (indoors, etc.). She said it made her throat scratchy.
