just sold a car though craigslist this past weekend..i guess that is the same, just located in different media type

I sold a car on ebay
I sold my subaru on craigslist recently. I had it up on auto trader and cars.com and it sold on craigslist to someone from connecticut

I did and once peice of advice that my dad gave me was to do the transaction at the bank- its easier than ever to create fraudulent bank checks- so if you do the transaction at the bank, they will be able to legitimize the check

I agree - that is what we did. We met the buyer at the bank and he gave us a certified check there. We deposited it right away. He took the car from the bank.

Thank you. You hit the nail on the head that was my concern was about actually getting the money.
I will try craigslist. Thanks. I was also thinking of putting it in newsday too.
