Anyone finding there pregnancy is
More diffcult then they thought it would be?
Don't get me wrong I am more then greatful to be pregnant and am able to experience such a wonderful thing in life especially having the fear of almost not being able to get pregnant.
I guess its just between the morning sickness, headachs, me having a senstive uterus, watching what I do and eat all the time, making sure I'm making the right choices for my baby, cramping, worrying all the time, and being so tired is a lot to handle. I know I know I knew this was all coming and believe me I would never change it for the world. I guess coming into being pregnant I swore I was going to have an easy pregnancy and feel great 24/7 but that's not real life. I didn't realize pregnancy was so hard and stressful with all the worries that come with it. I shouldn't say I'm not enjoying it because I am I'm LOVING it. I just really didn't think it was so hard.
Anyone eles finding pregnancy to be a little hard on them?

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
This is #2 for me and it's been tough both times.
It;s hard for to slow down and not do as much. I miss having my body to myself and am finding it cumbersome to get up and down.
The naseau in the beginining coupled with migraines was horrible! Now I have heartburn and just feel run down.
It is tough!!!
I know I am so blessed to be preg, but it is not easy

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Yes, and I feel guilty about it. I KNOW I could have it 100 times worse; the baby's health is fine, and I'm not high-risk for anything. But between the morning sickness, exhaustion, sciatica, insomnia and whatever else I'm forgetting, but those are the biggies, I've been pretty miserable since Christmas.
I'm like you, though. I wouldn't change it for the world, it's just a lot to handle. I love that I AM pregnant, but I don't love BEING pregnant, if that makes any sense.

ITA and understand what your saying. I'm so blessed to have a healthy little one growing inside but man its a tuff thing and I to feel guilty for posting this but again like you said I could have it soooo much worse! I'm just glad I'm not the only one who feels its hard on them as well.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
I always imagined it would be hard, and it could be much worse (I never threw up, etc.), but yes, I would totally skip over this part if I could grow him in a petrie dish or something.
I hate being PG, and discovered that I am very vain, and hate watching my body change, even if for a good cause.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Yes. I had a miserable first trimester. I threw up anywhere from 3-7 times a day until week 16. I was an emotional mess during that time because I felt terrible. My second trimester has been great so far, I felt like a whole new person. Just two days ago I found out that I failed my one hour glucose test AND that I have an iron deficieny and need to take supplements. I'm a little nervous now that if I fail the 3 hour test (which I took this morning) and that the iron supplements make me sick, that my third trimester will be a lot harder than my second. Obviously its all worth it for my little , but this pregnancy has definately been harder than I imagined.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
I have had a pretty easy pregnancy physically. No MS, sore boobs, etc.
Emotionally is a different story. Starting with the bleeding heavily @ 6.5 weeks, it has been non-stop worry ever since. I think that has been very draining for me, and I can't wait for this baby to be born so I can rest my mind for awhile.
I could do without the exhaustion and bad sciatica, but what can ya do?

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
I do.
and I don't think feeling that pregnancy is a beast in any way takes away from the blessing and the excitement and love we feel for our coming packages..the hope we carry around inside of us.
I always thought I'd have some issues, but I have having issues I'd never thought of and that is making it harder.
I also feel slightly ashamed, b/c I partially feel there is something "wrong" with me that I didn't have the seemingly easy pregnancy that so many people I know have had.
If I had a nickel for every time someone has said "wow, I never had that" or "it's just a phase, it will go away" I could send my kid to harvard with great ease.
when I think of my nausea, vomitting, headaches, exhaustion, feeling like a blob....i don't think of it in any way relating to my baby. my newton. who I cannot wait to show the world, and show the world to.
just like Newton is protected by my body outwardly, my apple is also shielded by my heart inwardly. I will take anything to deliver this baby safe.
I think we all will, without hesitation, and without need for guilt or explanation.

This is a really great sentiment--just because we (I) hate being pregnant does not make us less as mothers.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Im having a much more difficult time the 2nd time around, my first pregnancy I was very excited and didnt mind the annoying symptoms. This time I just want it to be over and im totally done after this baby. I just cannot put my self thru this again. Im always worrying this time around and I dont know why? I was sick all the time in the first trimester and now Im just impatient to get on with things. I just want my baby and my body back.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Hell!! Yeah!! Its not glamorous or easy like those friggin movies!! But i would do this all over again. and this wont stop me from having a big family. I had very bad morning sickness, and bleeding the first trimester.
I have been on bedrest since 17 weeks, and i have 6 more weeks do go. I had to get a cerclage at 18 weeks, and the stress of losing the baby was overwhelming, since i had lost a baby at 20 weeks last april. I have had my cervix shorten my entire pregnancy. I have GD, and hypertension. And i am overall very weak. What a picture i paint lol.

absolutely true!
i've hated pregnancy both times. i mean, REALLY hated it.
i often feel that it's taboo to talk about disliking pregnancy... as if disliking being pregnant somehow reflects on your feelings for your unborn child.
but nothing could be further from the truth. lord knows i cursed pregnancy every day last time around, but i love my son more than anything or anyone in this world. it's my love for him that has made me willing to do pregnancy all over again...

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
it is and it isn't for me. I haven't had any major issues thank goodness so in that respect it's easier than I expected. But I think I didnt realize how much it would slow me down for instance, make every day things a lot harder and slower to do especially now that I'm in the 3rd tri.
I also didn't realize in the beginning how even though I didn't have any major morning sickness, I would still feel like crud for basically 12 weeks straight.
I also didn't realize how emotionally I would be completely different too. That part is hard to deal with.
I don't love being pregnant, but I also have to say it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be physically for me.
I just CANNOT wait for July to come so I can see my !

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Yes, its definately harder than I expected (and I expected some bumps in the road).
Although there are aspects of pregnancy that i LOVE, like feeling kick and move around, mostly I feel uncomfortable and just ready to get my old body back. I wouldnt trade this for the world, but I'll be glad when its over and I dont have to deal with the aches, pains, nausuea, heartburn, headaches, and zillion other lovely symptoms.

Yes, between the nausea, cramping, contant peeing, not being to eat what i want, being uncomfrotable, insomnia, charlie horse leg cramps, baby girl's kidney problem it has been rough. I thought it would be easier but feeling her move around makes me realize it's all for good cause and it could be worse.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
Let me just say that I am incredibly blessed to be pregnant.
However, yes, I never thought I would feel this crappy. I never knew that morning sickness could be ALL DAY sickness.
I also never thought I would worry this much either.

The bedrest is kind of brutal....but I know that it will be worth it and don't ever want to deal with the devastation of last year so I'll do whatever I have to do for this baby to be okahy.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
I'm so grateful that I am pregnant. I hate when I complain because I feel like I'm being selfish since we got pregnant on our second try, and it takes some so long. I am just really not enjoying this at all. I literally have had no life outside of work since the beginning of March because I am sick and always tired. It takes all my engery to just get me up and go out to the store with DH to run an errand. I feel like this has completely taken over my life and I hate feeling this way.

Re: Anyone finding there pregnancy is
I am somewhere in the middle. I am an expect the worst type of person normally and the first trimester and halfway into the second, I thought it was way worse than I imagined it woul dbe with the constant nausea and bad taste in my mouth and heartburn/acid reflux. I still have the nausea and heartburn, I have gained more weight than I imagined I would and my nerves tend to be shot most of the time. It is harder than I thought it was going to be in someways, but also much easier than it could be in the grand scheme of things.

This is my second and I will definitley say, every pregnancy is different. This one has been a roller coaster and I now need to take it day by day and do whats best for the baby and I.
