Anyone flown out of Islip recently?

How were the security lines?
Not on spring break or anything nuts like that, just on a normal day?
Do I need to get there more than an hour before my flight or no?

DH has for work. I think he flew on a Tuesday morning(7am flight) and said the lines for TSA were super long but it was moving. I'm flying next week out of LaGuardia and received an email from AA stating to arrive early (at least 2 hours) to get through security.

Yes my email confirmation that I got the other day says arrive 1 1/2 hours prior for domestic flights. Something about long security lines for spring/summer?
Islip is usually so quick though.
Is TSA short staffed all of a sudden I wonder?

Didn't fly out of islip but flying out of JFK this weekend and got an email from Jetblue warning about very long security lines. It Is an international flight to the carribean and they said to get there more than 2 hours early

There is an article in newsday about the super long security lines at the airports the past couple months.

We have flown a lot this year And have not had any huge wait times but we have global entry with tsa precheck.

I just wonder what is causing it?
Stricter screening?
Tsa being short staffed?
People travelling more?

I flew out of islip - the saturday of spring break - and had no lines at all.

I flew a couple of weeks ago on a 6am flight on a Friday and had no line at all. Of course I got there SUPER early because the time before that was a really long wait. Better early than late I guess though!

Yeah sounds like it's a crap shoot.
I really hate travelling- the hassle part of it at least!

I flew out sat morning. 815 flight to Tampa and got there at 630-640 and had plenty of time. Anytime there is an Orlando flight there will be crowds. They are almost always full no matter what.

flew out two or so weeks ago on a Monday during Spring Break, 9am flight. We were the only ones on the line. Walked right through. I think we got there about 7amish.

I went last Thursday- 730 am flight.
Got there a little after 6 to be safe and was through security in 5 min.


AND there was an Orlando flight 15 min before mine!


I guess it's hit or miss though
