If she was struggling mentally and wanted (or did) wander off on her own accord, why didn’t he contact her family? Or authorities? Just so many questions.

I want to read more about the couple that was killed by the creepy guy in Moab.

All I saw was that they were at the same bar.

Even GMA tis morning was like we don’t get it, she said nothing.

Something has to give. You would think with all this media they would start talking. Do they have no conscience?

The sister of the brother seemed out of it. Like I didn’t get a sense of conviction, you know?

I just saw Gabby’s Instagram was mysteriously deleted and her parents don’t know why.

Anyone following the Gabby Petito story?

I realized this morning after watching the news. Gabby's mom has not spoken out or been on camera. For some reason these is odd to me.

Sad case, I hope she is alive, and found safe.

His atty said the reason he's not speaking is because " no matter what he says it can be used against him"

It is back up. I think it was down for just a day but still odd.

Honestly in all these cases it is usually the fathers as the mother might just be too distraught to speak

When I first heard about this story earlier this week, I saw an interview with both of her parents and the mom was speaking. She was distraught so maybe she's just having a hard time and doesn't want to speak publicly and that's why we are seeing the dad more.

I'm just speculating here but perhaps they got into another argument or physical altercation and he took off or she refused to get in with him and he left her somewhere and now something happened and he is freaking out. He knows where she is, he should say something

This is what I think happened or maybe she took off with other people and he doesn't want to say. Who knows.

I am watching the body cam footage. I am almost done with it. I don't think he did it. This kid is super nice, she was violent towards him and CLEARLY in need of medication. And the cop is so nice. But I am not sure how happy the cops wife is going to be that the fact that she is on anxiety meds is being broadcast all over the internet!

To play devils advocate here, if you’re in an abusive relationship you can experience gaslighting and the belief that you’re over emotional or “crazy”. Abusers can be manipulative, charming, overly friendly, especially in front of law enforcement.

This. I interpreted it as this. It looked like gaslighting to me. He even said that he hoped she hadn’t said too many bad things about him. There are a few red flags that you can catch throughout the video. It’s really hard to see it if you have never been in a situation with someone who has manipulated you.

What I don’t understand is why she was saying stuff about her mental issues, they let her stay in the van? If she’s acting so “crazy,” then call in some medical help.

I’m also wondering if this is related to those two murders that happened around that time.

I think you are over reaching here. I think he was just nervous around the police. His story completely matched the story of the person that called the police. She was attacking him. He was defending himself with very little force. He was trying to create distance. She was freaking out. I get it, I think we have all been in situations where we have been manipulated by someone we trust and even led to believe that we were being crazy when really it was them making us crazy. I don't think that's what this is. She seemed to lose it on him because he tracked some dirt into the van and she is severely OCD and had a mental breakdown.

They left her with the van partly because she had freaked out that he would leave her and take off with the van. I think that was more comforting to her than not being in the van.

Although it is strange that two other murders happened in the same area, I feel like they probably aren't related.

This story is all too weird.
If that was my daughter, I would probably have a restraining order against me, because I would be pounding at that kids door demanding where my daughter is.

Exactly or I would at least have flown to the area where she went missing and I would be searching and asking questions non stop. The whole situation is very very weird.

Right - they must know where her phone last pinged. I would start there....

Yes- I also wouldn't have waited so long to report her missing if I hadn't heard from her - the BF was in FL for 10 days at that point already!

I guess they thought she couldn’t get WiFi and it was only a week but yes he was home for 10 days by then. Insane.

Re: Anyone following the Gabby Petito story?

I just read this from a legal analyst from ABC, maybe he's not cooperating as he knows they will never find her and since there is no incriminating evidence she will remain missing?

"I find some of the language that the Laundrie family attorney is using, is odd. You look at the first statement: 'It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Miss Petito. On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that she is reunited with her family.' I mean, that's not a very empathetic statement right? If this is her boyfriend the statement would say, 'We are scared, we are nervous, we don't know what's happening, we are hoping that we can get some bit of information to help.' But this very stilted response that yes there's a search and certainly we're very hopeful it's successful is an odd tone I think for the lawyer to take on behalf of his client when the world and the other family is saying 'please help us.'"

Were they even aware that he had gone home though? Probably not. I doubt he contacted them. I wonder how long they usually went without communicating.

I doubt they knew until they filed the report... and I guess the service could've been an issue but the whole thing is weird.

Or maybe she beat the shit out of him, he got to the van and left her there out in the woods. Still, it doesn't explain why he isn't cooperating. It's kind of infuriating that they can't force him to talk.

Yep heard them say that this morning on GMA. Everyone gets it but this family and there needs to be more of a push to get them to talk even though I am not sure how they can do that.

Nope they had no clue. They said they talked all the time but knew some places she couldn’t get service.

Yes yes yes. I agree.
It’s very cold and almost like hands up in the air, saying, “That sucks, but it’s not my problem. Good luck guys!”

Definitely think a calculated move and agree.

The way his family is treating this whole thing is terrible. I can't imagine that their "inner circle" - close friends and family - isn't telling them that and how bad they look to the outside world. How can he not at the very least be telling her family where they were last together and how/why they parted ways? It's really inhumane to do that to her family

It’s horrible and I wonder where they ran off to as the parents came back home today so they are trying to hide out someplace.

The police are in his home now.

ETA: They are there to talk to his parents. Parents invited the police.
