anyone get pregnant on your own with DC #2 after using fertility treatments for DC #1?

just curious how often this really happens.

And if you don't mind answering what method did you use for #1 and what was your infertilty issue?

I have heard it happens a lot, i was the opposite, no problems first time, second time a year so it can go either way

Not pregnant again yet but with dd I had to go through 3 rounds of iui and clomid to conceive her mainly because I never got a period on my own or ovulated. Since dd I've been very regular and am ovulating so we shall see.

A family member had gone thru many IVF treatments -- 2 of them worked for her and they resulted in 2 little boys. She was told she would NEVER EVER conceive on her own, due to her fallopian tubes being sealed due to a medicine her mom took when she was in utero.

One day she felt sick and headed to the doctor and low and behold -- she was pregnant. They were blessed with their little girl about 4 years ago.

Sometimes a miracle can happen.

We got pregnant on our own with #2. We weren't trying but weren't not trying (if that makes sense). We did IUI for my first son because we were dealing with MF.

We know 2 families who both went through fertility treatments for their first and then became pregnant with their seconds without trying.

One unfortunately miscarried but the other one is currently 6m pregnant.

Both couples were totally shocked and not expecting to have another child because they went through so much for their first one.

i used clomid for AJ due to infrequent ovulation, and with Carmela we got pregnant right away with no drugs

I was hoping this would happen for me. I did IVF with DD and have not gotten AF on my own since having her. I haven't gotten AF AT ALL since March.

we got PG on our own but m/c on the first try. then nothing for over a year. we did 2 rounds of clomid/IUI/trigger and got PG. when we went to TTC #2 we got PG on our own on the first try. i give credit to taking an Omega 369 for support.

I did! It took 19 long months, 5 failed IUIs (last one resulted in a m/c) and I finally got PG with my son after my first round of IVF. I gave birth this past February and lo and behold, without even trying, I am 19 weeks PG

I have egg quality issues.

We just had #1 after fertility treatments and are not ready for #2 but two of my friends got pregnant on their own within 3-4 months of having DC#1 with fertility treatments.

Somewhat.....

I went thru 4 IUI's and 3 IVF's....all unsuccessful. I stopped all the meds and decided to try acupuncture & natural herbs that my acupuncturist gave me & was pregnant within 2 months. So for baby #2---I skipped all of the medical crap and did acupuncture & herbs---again pregnant within 2 months. I swear, for me, acupuncture was a godsend!!

not me but i know quite a few people who had a difficult time with #1 but winded up getting pregnant again soon after giving birth

We did!!!

I went through one round of IVF & conceived our first DS. We dealt strictly with Male Factor (specifically low morphology & low motility). We were told we would NEVER conceive on our own bc DH's sperm just would not make it.

Then when DS was 3 months old, I got pregnant with our second son! I was SHOCKED bc I never thought it would happen on our own (hence, we did not use BCP).

I went on BCP immediately upon getting AF after our second DS was born to prevent #3 happening so soon! I know I have heard of stories like mine but usually when it is the woman that has the issue. I never heard of success after dealing with male factor

Unexplained Infertility here. IUI's with DS. DS is 20 months and nada. Consequently the past six months we did it the day before ovulation and still nothing. Everyone told me this as well, for me I don't think it will happen.

My cousin went through IVF to get pregnant with her first DC.

Then they got pregnant naturally with #2. I don't know what the fertility issues were.

It happened to us.

I was monitored for over a year before starting fertility treatments to TTC my DD. In that one year, I didn't ovulate once on my own.

I did Clomid and Ovidrel in order to conceive my DD. It worked on the first shot. After I gave birth, I BF for 10 months. But I wasn't expecting AF anyway...it never came on its own.

When my DD was 10 months old, I got pregnant on my own. I had no idea. We were not using any form of protection because we assumed that I was not ovulating.

I went to the Dr. because I swore I had a the flu. He didn't even check me for pregnancy because he knows my history with PCOS. I found out on my own the morning after. I dropped the test on the floor!!!

Yes, this happened with us. I was unexplained infertility issues...went through 3 IUI's and our first IVF took. Originally was pregnant with twins but lost one of the babies at 12 weeks. The rest of the pregnancy was great and delivered a healthy baby boy (who is now 2). Last year we were moving and doing a complete renovation of our house...our life was chaotic...and a few days before christmas I realized that I hadn't gotten my period...and we just had a baby boy in Aug. I was in disbelief the whole pregnancy...for the first time in 5 yrs. I couldn't tell my OB/GYN when I had gotten my period!! It happens when you least expect it...good luck!

Yes I had 4 unsuccessdul IUI's then one failed fresh IVF cycle- then got preggo with my twin boys on my frozen cyle.
I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
I got preggo with my daughter when my boys were 8 months old..without trying.
Then I again got preggo with my current pregnancy again without trying
and Im currently scheduled for y c-section Monday~! Yay!

Yup. Medicated IUI with DC#1, after a year of trying on our own. DC#2 has arrived 13 months later, w/o much effort on our parts.

My sister did...

I think they had unexplained infertility...no issues with her or her DH....just couldn't conceive. Got pregnant with daughter on 4th try with IUI. Then, not even trying, a year later, pregnant on their own.

My ob says it happens most commonly in unexplained IF. I'm just not going to use protection. Is welcome it, but not count on it.

A good friend of mine after 5 years of IF and IVF had another child soon after her DD. Sperm was the issue with them.. so IMO that doesn't really count as pregnancy fixing something.
