Re: Anyone getting a Hight Chair like this....
It's a beautiful chair - it looks like the one my mom had when we were kids.
The only thing I wonder about is the harness/safety belt. It says it has a safety belt, but it isn't shown in the photo. I think I would prefer a harness type thing over just a belt. I would also wonder if the baby could slide out under the tray.

I considered getting a wooden Eddie Bauer one but I thought about cushioning and baby sliding.

Re: Anyone getting a Hight Chair like this....
My friend has the wooden Eddie Bauer and loved it - she said the wood made it sturdy and less likely to tip over. Her only crticism of it was that it wasn't so easy to move around, but if you plan on leaving it in the same spot all the time, that wouldn't really be a problem.

DH wanted the Eddie Bauer one, not as traditional looking as the one you posted.
The EB one's cushion was material and would need to be washed constantly.
They had a lighter wood one with a more vinyl material, but it's discontinued.

Is your DH handy? Maybe he could add one on for you, although the chair is pretty $$$$, I might research a little more.

Can I be honest? That is A LOT of money for something that baby is going to throw food from and get food all over.
I agree that if your DH could make it, it would probably save $$$, or if you had an heirloom one, but who knows how safe that would be.

I have an old one that had the straps installed so it's safer. I'll prob just use it at my In-laws when she's older since it doesn't recline.

You can buy a harness to strap on, I have one on my Babydan chair. (which I love)
I love wooden chairs, one billion million times easier to clean than plastic ones.

I read in consumer reports that wood is difficult to clean.

I think highchairs run from about $60 to about $125 or so, but that is $386, no? That is over $200 more!
And if you want quality, what if it doesn't clean up nicely, then you spent a lot of money on something that doesn't look so nice. Maybe not practical, KWIM?
