Anyone go to the the Seafood Festival today in West Sayville?
We had a lot of fun.. saw some pirates..arrr!
The food was yummy, which we needed after our long walk to the festival!
We even splurged on the 10 dollar parking, but it was still a hike. We stopped at a little boy's ice tea stand on the way to the festival, to give him some business.
And then we saw Chuck Schumer, over by the food. He was shaking hands and kissing babies.
All in all, a good time.
The festival continues tomorrow!

Glad you both had a good time! We plan on going tomorrow! Do you think there's enough to keep us occupied if we plan on going for the whole day?

I went, and kinda thought it was a waste. . . .I thought there would be more seafood stuff. . . .I live right by Vincents and go there all the time and I do love it, but didn't want to go to a seafood festival for vincents . . . And there were supposed to be rides for the kids and there were only 2 rides. I was really disappointed with it . . . .The pirate show was cute but scared DS. And the vendors were nice. How were you able to pay for parking? I parked on Montauk Hwy and it was a hike!

It's not huge, but they have a little rollercoaster thing for the kiddies, and a "fishing" game (they play 'till they win) and a "race" with the watergun to see who reaches their target first...they also have a giant slide, ice cream trucks, and a pirate show.
Then, many craft vendors and home exhibits.... etc
TONS of food.
We were getting hot and tired, and we forgot sunscreen, so we weren't there too long, but we never linger anywhere really.. we are pretty much like tornadoes whenever we go anywhere
They also had a band setting up...and beer and wine. They said they had boat rides, but we didn't see them.

we parked on Atlantic Ave, and ended up being sent to a marina parking lot, I think it was.
And even then, we had to walk

Re: Anyone go to the the Seafood Festival today in West Sayville?
I was a little disappointed. For $5, I hoped there would be better items there. I went last year, so I saw the museum and the pirates. This year the booths seemed to have all the same chachkie stuff. I did like the pickle booth, though. THey seemed to have more stuff for kids this year- the rides etc. It was also very hot and very very crowded.
