anyone have a car navigation system??
i want to get DH one for christmas because he has the worst sense of direction i've ever seen! you have no idea what i deal with in the car with him 
any suggestions for a good one that's not too expensive and where to get it? i've heard tomtoms aren't very accurate, especially in parts of nassau.
any ideas would be appreciated!

I've read and heard really good things about it

My friend has the "tom-tom"... I know she and her DH love it. That's about all I know about it though!
Hell, I'm not even sure if I spelled it correctly!

I have the Tom Tom One and I love it. My parents hae one, I used it and had to go buy my own. It is the best investment.
I have ZERO sense of direction and I feel confidant that I won't get lost.

This is the one we own. We bought it about 4 months ago at PC Richards for 299 I think.
We love it, have never been given inaccurate directions and honestly, I don't know how we got along with out it all these years!

I have this one and LOVE it. For my job I have to travel all over LI and I NEVER get lost now.

We bought the Garmin 350 Nuvi a couple weeks ago and can't fathom how we got around without it. It was $389 including shipping from amazon.com
We have been from NYC to Due West, SC to Norcross, GA and back to Peekskill, NY in the last few weeks and not once have we been lost. DH could be the new spokesperson for Garmin at this point. He loves it

Our friend sells Garmin and he said to get the Nuvi 200 from Garmin. Completely love it and all the features. It is similar to the c330 that the others spoke about, but much smaller and one nicer feature is that you can touch the map and drag the screen around (the c330 stays in one place, you can't look outside the map you are driving on).

I can't say enough great things about the Garmin Nuvi 650......This thing is simply amazing......not only does it give perfect directions including the time you will arrive at your destination..... it also is preloaded with every store, restaurant,attraction, gas station, and anything else you might need... simply spell the name of the location and with one touch of the button it gives you step by step directions including the phone number incase you want to call the place....It acts as a speakerphone to your cell and is bluetooth compatible so your cell phones info comes up on the screen..... we were recently in Phoenix Az. and typed in Ghost town......we had a choice of local attractions within a minute.......no need to stop at a tourist info spot.....Nuvi knew it all!!!!! I loveeeee this thing....

We have the megellan roadmate 2000 and we LOVE it! We lent it out to DH's aunt and uncle, and they loved it too! The voice is very clear, and the new version that we bought my FIL last month fixed the one mistake we found on the map. And now you can charge it in the car, and also in your house (ours only came with a car charger). I hightly recommend it.

I have a Tom Tom- but I just bought DH a Mio from Staples. It was just under $200 and it is GREAT!!!! He drives ALL OVER New England and he cannot live without it. It's a necessity in the city.. Definitely worth the $.

I have a Tom Tom and I love it. I have also had a Magellan 4040 and it is a simple user interface for a non-techy person.

i have a tom tom, and FH has an aftermarket system in his car.
I dont use it really around long island, we really bought it for when we travel out of state, but it works really well
But...FH said that his unit in his car is 10 times better than the tom tom.
granted i think he paid 2500 for that system a couple years back

I have the Garmin Nuvi - I think the 200? It was on sale at Best Buy for $299. its AWESOME!!!!
