anyone have a CAR they recommend?
I am in the market for a new car. I don't really want to get into an SUV, since I don't drive too much, don't want to pay in gas, etc.
I love my DH VW, but I want a little more backseat room.
Any recs????

I have a Saturn Aura. Love it! Roomy and the highway gas mileage is great for a mid size! I got almost 32mpg going to the zoo yesterday.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
We bought the 2009 Nissan Murano and I ADORE it. The smaller Nissan Rogue is really nice too and too bad with gas. My mom bought the Nissan Altima this past summer and its a great car and wonderful with gas. Lots of backseta room and big deep trunk space.

I have a 2008 Honda CRV...it definitely has more room than I thought it would have and very affordable. It's also great on gas.

I second this. Test drove one before and it is roomier than you may think. We got a Volvo but thats becuase we DONT drive much so gas wasnt really a factor but two kids--need all the room I could get.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
We had your exact problem before and we got a Hyundai Sonata. It's great on gas and is roomy in the backseat, as well as in the trunk. It was not expensive either, which we wanted since it was the 2nd car at the time.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
If you want a smaller SUV, how about the Nissan Murano?
If you want a car...I think the Honda Accord or the Nissan Altima or Maxima have good back seat room and trunk space.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
i know you said car, but some of the smaller SUVs are actually great on gas now. i drive a 2006 Toyota RAV4, and LOVE it!! even in and around town and stop and go traffic to work, i still get 24 miles a gallon. its even better on the highway! so i love it because i have the room and height of an SUV, but its not a total gas guzzler.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
we have the honda accord and it is super roomy. It is actually our main family car, we don't own an SUV. The trunk is pretty roomy as well! I've had it since October 06 and have no complaints. We have the v6

Can't go wrong with a Honda Accord!!! This is my second one, went from a 2-door to a 4-door and can't complain.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
My sister has an Altima and I love it!! The trunk is huge!!
I know your looking for recommendations but just wanted to give a suggestion on one to avoid. We have an Infiniti G35X and in my opinion it is the worst car for families. I literally have to stuff his stroller in the trunk and can't put a carseat in the middle. I want a new car so bad.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
Love, love, love our Camry. Both Britax Marathons fit in the back seat with space between so they couldn't hit each other. The trunk was big enough to fit a double stroller and a light grocery shopping. And it is really gas efficient, I have to fill up our minivan more often now.

I have the Nissan Altima and love it. Lots of room in the backseat & the trunk. Since #2 is coming shortly, I am thinking of getting the Nissan Murano though.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
great, now I have a lot to look at!!!!!!!!!!!! It just does not seem sensible to go back into an SUV, since I am not working, & being at the mercy of gas prices.

Re: anyone have a CAR they recommend?
We just leased a Toyota Rav4 - it was highly recommended by Parenting magazine and then I researched it with Consumer Reports. It was highly recommended for safety and gas mileage for a small SUV. Really good lease!! DH drives a Honda Accord --also love it!

See, now my DH has this and I love driving it with the kids. I do agree while the trunk is big the opening is small and it is hard to get things in and out.
