Anyone have a down (or alternative) comforter AND a cover for it?
If so where did you get your cover? Do you use that as your "made" bed or do you throw something over it?
TIA!!!
This is what I currently have

I have an alternative comforter and do you mean a duvet cover?? I have both and got them from overstock and amazon.
I have a coverlet I fold at the bottom of my bed so my duvet cover with two shams and my coverlet with two shams are used when my bed is made up.

I guess I don't really know what a duvet it. I think I have that for my bed now with matching shams.
But, I think they sell actual covers that you put your down in. Do you then use that as your decorative top & skip any duvet?

We have a down duvet and a duvet cover. It's from Pottery Barn - don't have time to link now but it is the Matine Toile on PB in Espresso. I have only ever in my life slept with a down duvet and duvet cover - to me it's the coziest thing out there! It is what we make our bed with and then in the winter I throw a quilt at the foot of the bed ('fold' a quilt but ya know ) but typically the duvet is the top layer of our made bed.
HTH!

My down comforter is plain white and made to have a duvet cover be used over it. I only have 1 cover at the moment and it was purchased from home goods.

Hmm I am not sure what you mean. A duvet is a cover to put your down comforter in so I think that is what you are talking about??
I have a plain white cotton down comforter and then a decorative duvet that goes over it. It looks like your comforter is already decorative (and not plain white) in the fabric so you can get away with as is or if you want a change add a cover.
I love your bedding, maybe get a nice throw/quilt to put on the bottom and some decorative accent pillows?

I have a down comforter that I got for a reasonable price from Ikea. I have several duvet covers for it that I have gotten from Macys, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Marshalls, etc. I use it as the top cover on our bed (we have a sheet under, and add a chennile blanket between the sheet and duvet in the winter.

What you see in the picture is the decorative comforter set. We sleep with the down & LOVE IT...so I guess it's a diver cover that I want to slip my down into.
I need to take a photo of my new lamps. I love them, but because they are satin nickle (like the furniture knobs) the bedding looks too gold. Eventually I want to paint the br grey

I have several Pottery Barn duvets that are awesome and 2 from Restoration HW. The quality from both places is excellent.

Re: Anyone have a down (or alternative) comforter AND a cover for it?
We have a down comforter and use a few duvets. They are from Pottery Barn, Ikea, and LL Bean. I LOVE the Pottery Barn ones. In the summer, though, we use a quilt and fold the down comf. at the end of the bed so if we need it we haev it. Or in the Spring we'll just throw the quilt over the down comforter for some extra warmth. I don't feel like it has to have a duvet, but it does need a cover of some sort to keep it cleaner and throwing a blanket or regular quilt/comforter over it works for us, but ew're lazy like that
