Anyone have a family member from DH giving you unwanted advice 24-7?

I am an organized person, read and watched shows have 8 nieces and nephews and feel I have a great grip on what I have and need to do for my DD.

Well DH's aunt is always saying do this and do that and you should have this- and Im like its allready taken care of- for instance she's like oh when you change her diaper you should have everything right there and a basket filled with what you need- HELLO- you saw the nursery and the changing table did you NOT see the basket filled with what you are talking about?

I told DH Im sick of it and to tell her to lay off, it seems like she doesnt comment on anything Im doing right just looking for things I may miss like I took Giada out for a walk sat and DH's aunt lives 5 doors down and I saw her in the kitchen and knew she saw me so I had to stop and say hello well I should have a blanket under her b/c the stroller is too rough. she was so bundled up her skin did not make contact with her face that was the only part showing and I did have a blanket covering her.

then the kicker is besides her just showing up without notice DH went to feed DD and I said to put a bib on her b/c she is a lil piggy and gets it all over and DH's aunt is like you dont need a bib and whisked DH away from me to go to the den- I was FUMING, then I hear DH say oh Janice is going to kill me and from the kitchen I yelled that is why I said to put a bib on her! there was no comment and I told DH I am her mother and just the same way you are her father and when you say something you want me on your team same goes for me, he understood so I await till the next time- I know for sure there will be one.

My MIL is similare to your Aunt, except in order to keep my from screaming at her she starts EVERY conversation off with her disclaimer about how her own MIL was a PITA and how she would NEVER do that to me and blah blah blah...then she launches in to her speech on what Im doing wrong...

IGNORE her and try to stay away from her. Next time she shows up tell her its not a good time - do that a few times and maybe she'lll get the hint.

You have enough going on right now trying to adjust.

yes, MY MIL.....awlays tells us what we need, or should do with our boys, and how to do it. I can go on and on.
But I dont want to bore you.
I just now ignore her.

Just Ignore her! I ignore everyone at this point. She is your DD and you need to do what you think is right.

You aren't always going to make the right decisons, but that is what motherhood is all about!

I would also ignore it. You dont need that now and honestly tell her she needs to go home. You just came home form the hospital. I use to get unsolisted advise and I am actually pretty good at tuning things out and that is what I would do. I would say ok, thanks. Eventually people got the message.
