I have mine cooking right now, I used an old thread to do mine...
I put the corned beef in fat side down
cut up medium onion & stuffed on the sides & then seasoned with garlic powder, pepper & some salt...Covered with enough water so corned beef was covered, then added cut up cabbage...It is on Low for 8.5 hours

Honestly? It's going to sound strange, but it comes out soooooo good...
All I do is throw in the corned beef and a can of beer!!! Then I fill the rest up with water. Out of this world!!!

i've done the can of beer recipe too!
last time i made corned beef i put halved new potatoes, onion, carrots and celery in the bottom, put the corned beef in fat side down, and covered with water. the corned beef had seasoning from the package, and i cooked it 8 hours on slow
