I swear by the classics... I tuck fresh sage, thyme, and savory between the skin and the breast meat, fill the cavity with lemon, sage, thyme, and savory... and then rub some poultry seasoning and a bit of salt on the skin...

i always stick a peeled apple inside the turkey (we don't put stuffing in it!) it keeps the turkey so moist and juicy! then i lub up the outside with butter or olive oil (or bbq!), seasoned salt and whatevr other spices I want!

I fill the cavity with cut up onions, lemons, garlic and fresh sage, thyme, and parsley. Then I rub lots of butter all over the outside & just under the skin. Then just salt, pepper and maybe some poultry seasoning on top before roasting.

We brine for 24 hours before, with this recipe.
It's great, makes it very juicy.

I do the same!
I also add a little white wine and chicken broth to the pan and baste it often...always comes out SUPER MOIST!

shoot, I'm not telling my husband about that one. the second he would hear that bacon could be encorporated into the bird, I'd be forced to make it that way for the rest of my life!!!!!
brilliant idea, though....

I'm Puerto Rican and this is what my family does:
Garlic Powder or whole pressed Salt Sazon Pepper Onion Powder Oregano
or
Adobo - I prefer "Vitarroz Adobo" - Green bottle
(mix in oil to create a "wet" rub)
I wash the turkey down with Lime. I make holes in the turkey and insert the wet rub throughout (inside and out) and VOILA!

I do it very simple the night before
Peel and quarter two apples, and one onion to put in the cavity. I'll also throw a spring of thyme in too.
Rub the bird down with olive oil and then season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic.

I put carrots, celery, apples, orange's , onions & sage all cut up & stuff that in the bird. Then I lift up the skin from the meat & put a mixture of butter & sage & dill s&p, parsley all underneath it. Make sure to baste it like every 15 min,, juicy & tasty
