Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
We need a new stove and DH finally agreed that I could use the tax refund to buy one. I saw a Kitchen Aid I like but I have seen mixed reviews. Does anyone have one? What do you think? Thanks!

I have one and love it - I just got it in December. The top has a big giant burner and 4 regular ones & it has a warming drawer too. It's model KGSS907SWH Slide in w/ convection Image Attachment(s):

I really love it - the only thing I don't really like is the simmer burners - they really can't even keep a pot of water boiling - so I rarely use them. The super power burner is INTENSE though - I have to be VERY careful when using it.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
Thanks everyone.
Does anyone notice that it is noisy when the oven is on? I've been reading the online reviews and several people complain about a noise every time the oven ignites. And some people complain that the burners are not strong enough (my range is over ten years old - probably closer to fifteen - so I'm sure any new one would be better but I was just wondering).

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
I guess it's the fans that come on that make the noise - but I don't find it bothersome at all. I asked DH and he said what noise. (but then he said with 2 kids in the house, it could make nosie, but he doesn't notice)
I do agree about the other burners. the simmer burners are useless, but I will say, it's very rare that I use more than 1 burner, so the times that I use 2, I have no problem with the super burner and the regular burner. I suppose that I could use the simmer burners more, but they are the ones adjacent to the super burner, so the pans knock together, so I move the simmering pan diagonally to the regular burner. I don't think I have ever had to use 3 burners in my life - so if you cook more, maybe it would be a concern.
If you wanted to come over and look at it in action you can.

I too have this convection oven and we also love it. I completely agree with the comment the poster above made regarding the burners. I would 100% purchase this range again, however I cannot say the same for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
The sound they may be talking about is the exhaust opening on the top of the range. The air makes a "puff" sound every few minutes. I made dinner this weekend for 5 other ppl and everyone was i love with the oven.
I do use the power burner mainly and I hadn't noticed any issue with the simmer burner b/c I haven't really cooked alot on the stovetop.
Any questions, let me know.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
I currently have a Kitchen Aid range but it is 9 years old. I don't like it.
I am getting a new Kenmore convection oven delivered today. I can't wait! It's ranked #1 on Consumer reports and Sears is having an amazing sale this weekend.

I will say the same -I would buy it again - and have actually thought about taking it with me in 2 years when we move - but then I will want to buy the newest version!
FYI - I bought a 20% coupon from HD off ebay and bought the KA range at Lowes with the coupon.
ETA: the puffs...I would never have thought of them, but now that you mention it - I know what they are talking about. I don't think it's noisy at all.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
We have this stove except we have the freestanding version (which has a small backboard). We had to get the freestanding model which was a bit more $$ b/c we do not have cabinets on either side.
I LOVE the way the stove cooks and i much prefer the black metal cooktop to the black glass on prev models (we had the older version in our coop) - it cleans up super easy!
We bought ours from Home Depot/Expo...

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
Thanks for all your input everyone! Seems like all the LIF owners don't agree with the other reviews I've seen online. I have to decide soon because it's on sale for a great price. It's also the freestanding version like annienyc has. It looks very stylish to me - I just need reliability too.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
My only complaint about the freestanding vs the slide-in is that the freestanding doesn't have the lip/edge that comes over the counter. (Our older one which was a slide in had an edge on either side.) It just causes crumbs/drips to fall in the gap but it certainly doesn't affect the performance.

Re: Anyone have a Kitchen Aid range?
I have this slide-in range. We just got it a few weeks ago and so far I love it!! I had read about the noise also but I don't notice any excessive noise.
