Anyone Have a Mole Tested that came back as Pre-Cancerous?

I went for a skin check last month and my derm took two moles off me - one off my stomach and one off my back. Well they called last night and said that both moles came back as being pre-cancerous and that neither one was removed completely and I should come back to get them totally taken out.

The nurse told me to call back to set up an appt to discuss my options with the doctor, but I am really confused. The nurse kept saying 1% of these moles will turn into cancer but you should try and get them completely removed. I assume this means that they will really have to dig out the areas where they took them from.

So it is up to me. I am going to go back, but has anyone on here gone back in to get a pre-cancerous mole totally removed. Mine were not raised and not really big......I am just so confused.

This happened with my friend a few weeks ago. She had to have several removed after have the moles removed and tested the first time.

This happened to me last year with two I had taken off. They just take some more from the area off to make sure. Then they will call you and let you know if enough was taken. Good luck!

This happened to both my mom and sister. it's very common. I know it's scary, but since it's PRE-Cancerous, you're in better shape.... they remove them so they don't become cancerous. my sister had a few taken off and there was one that they had to dig quite deep to get everything out.

this reminds me, i should go for a check.
