Not a recipe, but I buy Makoto ginger dressing in the supermarket. It's usually near the refrigerated produce.
It tastes just like what they have in the restaurants!

I love that dressing! I found this:
Ginger Dressing
INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup minced onion 1/2 cup peanut oil 1/3 cup rice wine vinegar 2 tablespoons water 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root 2 tablespoons minced celery 2 tablespoons ketchup 4 teaspoons soy sauce 2 teaspoons white sugar 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper DIRECTIONS In a blender, combine the minced onion, peanut oil, rice vinegar, water, ginger, celery, ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper . Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds or until all of the ingredients are well-pureed.

Re: Anyone have a recipe for the awesome ginger dressing that you can get at a Japanese rest.?
This is a ginger-carrot dressing from my DH:
Ginger-Carrot Dressing The ginger carrot dressing is done so many ways. One easy way is to put a little piece of ginger half inch to an inch cube in the blender with a couple tablespoons of rice vinegar- give it a whir and then strain it for the juice. Then put the juice back in the blender with 1 chopped up carrot. Usually people lightly cook the carrot but that's if you prefer that flavor. Anything else is just extra. You can put a little oil (a few Tbs) or a lot (up to a 1/2 cup- Edited) and some recipes add a touch of toasted sesame oil for aroma. Then salt, pepper, any other herb that goes with the meal like a little chives or even a touch of sugar.

There is another one in the regrigerator aisle that is really good too. I really wish I could remember the name brand! Shorter, rounder bottle. Orange and green label. YUM!
ETA I checked the bottle when I got home and the label was ripped halfway off. Go figure.
