Anyone have a two door car?
I have a two door car but it has a full size back seat. For now this car works fine for me because I only have 1 baby but I plan on ttc soon! We also have an suv so we can use that if we need to pack up baby stuff. Does anyone with 2 kids have a two door and what are your thoughts? I am debating selling my car since the resale is still decent. We are still using the infant seat and have a base in each car so it's easy. Are the big car seats (after infant seat) easy to move from car to car? My dh and I car swap a lot! Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a two door car?
I had the Acrua RSX a few years back and it's a 2 door hatch back.
I didn't have kids then but I did drive a boy back and forth to and from daycare some days. He was 3/4 at the time so still in a convertible.
I was able to get the seat in but it took a lot of work. I had to push the front seat up all the way which was not very much then turn the seat upside and wiggle it in and drop it in. Then I had to climb in and secure the seat, then go in and the child and put him in as well.
While it wasn't the most horrible thing ever, I don't know if I could do it very often. I would often do it a week at a time but maybe once a month.
I don't know if I could do it that often.

Re: Anyone have a two door car?
DH had one for a while before we had DD and it lasted until DD was 6 months old... then we got rid of it. It was too much of a PITA and nobody could sit in the passenger seat with the rear facing infant seat in the back.

Re: Anyone have a two door car?
We had a 2-door coupe as our ONLY car until our DS was 22 months. And he is a BIG boy. We had a Britax Advocate in there.
I will say that it is not easy to have 1 child in a 2-door, and I shudder to think about what it would be like to have 2 in there. It was actually easier once DS was walking well and could climb up on the seat himself. But, there was a period of time when he couldn't, and he was heavy, and it was really hard to get him in there.
But, DH did once notice a 2-door coupe like ours with 2 carseats in it. He was in shock that it could be done.
It's not easy to transfer convertible car seats back and forth, especially when rear-facing. You want to make sure it is properly installed and even after practice and learning tips at car seat safety checks, it still took us 20-30 minutes to do it. Forward-facing is much easier to install.
It can be done but if I had a choice, there is no way I'd do it with 2.

I did, until DS was 14 months old. It even had bucket seats. PITA!!!
We got a SUV before DD came along.

Re: Anyone have a two door car?
My husband has a 2 door Toyota Solara and that's where both seats are right now (infant and convertible). It is the most gigantic pain in the neck you could ever imagine! I hate having to get my toddler in and out because there is just no convenient way to do it. SO annoying!!
