Anyone have a veggie garden?
I've been thinking about starting one in the hopes that being involved in it will help get the kids to eat more veggies.
What do you plant? What are pretty easy to take care of? How do you keep the birds/squirrels away?
Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a veggie garden?
We plant tomatoes, peppers(hot and sweet), cukes, summer and winter squash, carrots, broccoli, basil, rosemary, garlic, dill, leaf lettuce and this year we are going to try corn.
Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and herbs are probably the easiest to grow - although we really haven't had a problem with anything.
We have never had a problem with birds or squierrels - although this could be because we also have a boysenberry tree which seems to keep them occupied.
We have had issues with deer - they REALLY like the tomato plants. We get a mixture from the garden store that repels deer, it has coyote urine, blood and bone meal in it - it works but you have to reapply after rain.
